Must Have For Ovo Owners,

I bought the Ovo Maze to give my Syrian Hamster more living space in her Ovo home (the basic package seemed to be ok, but I figured she would grow and need more space soon). Its the same size as the main hub of the 'Suite' set, which is quite large, and really is roomier because there's no wheel/food tray attachment built in. My hamster loved the cardboard maze that it came with, but I've been using it as an addition and leaving it open.
Just like the Suite Den, the retractable roof locks in, and opens in the front and back. Also like the den, its entirely escape proof. The only issue I've had is with the plastic tabs that lock into the tunnel openings: there's nothing wrong with the product itself but my hamster loves to chew it (which is loud and annoying). I like the blue color because its really almost clear, giving me a full view of the hamster while she's playing and running around. I haven't seen the other colors in person but the purple seems like it might be less transparent.

This is a great product, both in idea and function. The Ovo Maze is a clever twist on the old notion of a maze: The dome is big enough to fit a 3-level cardboard maze in for lots of 3D exploration. In use it's a lot like an ant farm for hamsters. They go in and, depending on the maze, you can see your hamster duck in and out of a dollhouse or a treehouse or a fun beach scene. The beach scene comes with the Ovo but the additional maze inserts are so cheap you can easily collect them all. The inserts are chewable though my hamster isn't at all interested in chewing her maze. We put treats in it for her to find and that seems good enough for her.
Technically you could just put the insert in and shut the Ovo as-is but we put litter in the bottom level of ours for our hamster's comfort. She didn't like going through the down holes until the litter was put in. Now she sails through the whole thing like a pro. We attached the maze to her cage so she has four times the room to move about. The Ovo is bigger than I would have expected -- it's nearly the size of a full cage. I was able to hook it up to a non-Habitrail cage with some standard tubing purchased from the pet store. We also use the Ovo when we're cleaning her cage. Put a fresh veggie snack in the Ovo to distract her, shut the doorways out and she's got a safe place to hang out while her litter's being refreshed. Well worth the reasonable price for this super-fun item. Kids, grown-ups and hamsters all agree.

Awesome connecting play pen for your small pets. Goes great on it's own as a pet cage or as part of the OVO Pad.
