5.0 out of 5 stars Haggadah And History: A Wonderful Resource, April 8, 2000
By A Customer
Haggadah and History is a wonderful resource because it allows us to view segments of haggadahs printed throughout the past 400+ years, and gives us insights into the historical/cultural influences present in those haggadahs.

You can use Haggadah and History at your seder for giving tangible examples of our people's observance of the Passover seder throughout history. By bringing something new to the seder, you renew and expand your family's connection to the Seder ritual.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must for your Seder, May 17, 2011

This review is from: Haggadah and History (Hardcover)
Haggadah and History is a wonderful book that will enrich any Seder independently of your level of observance. It has a facsimile page or two from about two hundred Haggadahs from the late 1400s up until relatively recently. The Haggadahs presented are a tour through Jewish history, cultures and artistic creativity. One of my favorites is an 1883 Haggadah printed in Chicago on a page devoted to the Four Sons. A family seder is illustrated. The Wise one is studiously reading his Haggadah, the Wicked one is leaning back in his chair, smoking and not wearing a yamalka, the two others are playing with their food and not paying attention. Ah just like seders we have all attended. Buy this beautiful book. Every Jewish family should have a copy.
