I'm a big guy, 42/44 waist. It's difficult to find a pair of pants that give me room to move around without feeling like I'm going to split my seat if I squat down to tie my shoelaces. Several years ago, the trend seemed to be moving towards "relaxed" fit, and it was nice... plenty of room in the seat and thighs, but not so much as to make it look like a clown suit. Now, with all the straight-leg and skinny-fit pants, I was ready to switch to wearing a kilt but I could never figure out what I was supposed to wear underneath.

I digress. These pants fit me great. Not only is the fit great, but I really like the fabric - they are indeed "cool" pants. Given my bulk, one would assume that I would be a big fan of adjustable waistbands. To be honest, I really don't care for them... they can be bulky and more often than not I find that they encourage my pants to fall down (even with a belt!). These slacks do have an adjustable waistband, but it's not as bad as other pants that I've owned. In my perfect world, they would make a version of these exact pants with a fixed (?) waistband, but they don't and the positives of these pants far outweigh the not-so-bad-but-still-adjustable waistband.

I've had one pair of these pants for several months and it has held up well in the wash and so far hasn't needed ironing. I would say that these pants very appropriate for a business-casual work environment (w/ shirt & tie, or button down, or polo shirt). I don't know if I'd wear them out to the bar on a Friday night the same way I would a pair of 100% cotton khakis, but that's just me.

Anyway, if you're on the stout side and you're looking for some versatile, comfortable, and affordable pants, I suggest you consider Haggar Cool 18.

For years I was buying Dockers microfiber dress pants and then about three years ago Dockers decided to discontinue that line and created the new D1-D4 line. The material that is used for those new Dockers is terrible; it feels like sandpaper and they are extremely hot to be in all day. It took me a long time to find an adequate replacement for those Dockers but Haggar's Cool 18 not only meets my requirements it surpasses them.

These Haggar Cool 18 pants are much better than the old Dockers I was wearing. The material is lightweight and very free flowing. I have never once sweat in these pants at work. The color has not faded at all even though I have been wearing these same pair for over a year and washed them probably a hundred times. They fit very well and they look good. I own three pair: black, navy, graphite.

These are a beautiful pair of men's pants. The fabric is soft and rich looking. they are wrinkle resistant and easily maintained. They are a wise buy for any man on the go.

I was more than happy when I received my new Microfiber Pleated Slacks Cool 18. They fit very well and I do plan on order more for myself and others.

These slacks are somewhat light weight. They hold the crease very well, only needing a light touch of the iron after washing and drying to make them look excellent. The elastic waist makes them very comfortable. Wish I had found these slacks a long time ago.

These pants are excellent for work. A caveat though, I do not wash and wear my slacks and work pants, I dry clean them. I cannot tell you how they will last with washing and wearing but if you dry clean your stuff they seem like they'd last forever and a day. They are nice and cool, not nearly as itchy as my wool slacks and they look very, very sharp. They compare nicely against Claiborne slacks which run a bit tight. The flex-fit thingy keeps the pants snug but not overly tight and give you room to move around in. In a Texas summer these are the next best thing to khakis. I don't often wear khakis which are a bit too casual for my workplace but these fill that niche between business formal and business casual. They look as good with a sport coat and tie as they do with a short sleave shirt.

Roomy cut legs. Deep pockets and fabric that keeps a crease and is easy to keep clean. I will buy more when these wear out but I expect they will last well. The inch or two of elastic in the waist makes them comfy and the cut is generous. They also look good and hang well.

I love these pants, they fit great and are very comfortable. I wear these at work mostly, they feel light and the quality is also very good. Never had a problem with Haggar pants of any kind.

The quality in these pants has greatly declined. I've purchased and worn these same pairs of pants for my job for years.

The reason these were so great is because with larger athletic legs it is difficult to find a pair of pants that will fit correctly and be somewhat cool to work in actively. That has all changed now.

1:The pants are much tighter around the thighs. Uncomfortably too tight.

2:The fabric has now changed. A much cheaper material than what Haggar previous used for these pants.

3:The pockets are shorter. This becomes a problem when you try to hold a cell phone and a wallet in your pockets as it is already tight around that area and without the longer pockets it becomes even tighter.

4:Within two weeks of wearing these, a belt loop has already broken. I use a carribeaner with many keys on it for my job and regularly have to take them on and off the belt loop. After years of doing this, this is the first pair of pants I've had, that have had a belt loop break, and it only took two weeks.

The difference is so stark that I went and double/triple check my old pairs to the new ones. They have the exact same UPC code and are the exact same size.

Unfortunately what used to be a wonderful pair of pants is now no better than something you can take off the shelf at Wal Mart. Very disappointing.

I work at an IT systems engineer that at times still has me crawling under desks to help the desktop support guys install or troubleshoot computers. Unless it is a weekend we still have to wear business casual clothing to look good when we work with the users. So I need pants that look good and still allow some stretch so that crawling under desks is still easy with these pants.

I will usually order two pair every 8 months because they will start to loose their shape when treated to this abuse. The material is a good compromise between something that wears well and still looks good.

They come with a good crease in the front and back but it tends to go away after 6 months. The material is not easy to iron because you have to lower the temperature on the iron. However, if you want pants that look good, stretch for an active lifestyle and that will usually be wrinkle free if taken out of the dryer and hung up for a day then these are them.
