This review is from: Haggopian and Other Stories (Best Mythos Tales) (Kindle Edition)
The mythos short stories and novellas written by Lumley are all first-rate. Even the stories he said weren't that good I thought were amazing. Haggopian stands out, but I even liked stories that he called "derivative" of Derleth and Lovecraft. That style suited me just fine. Huge fan of Lumley's mythos work, and I hope more and more stuff like this gets released.
Let me just say, I'm a big horror fan, and I like the gory stuff the most, but the grotesque subgenre of horror that gets into the really insane violence and depraved themes... that subgenre is sorely missing a narrative voice like Lumley's. I hope to see all branches of the horror genre, whether its bizarro horror, ghost stories, possession, grotesque, etc., find a talent like Lumley to take their art to new heights as Lumley has done in works like this.

Haggopian Rocks,
This review is from: Haggopian and Other Stories (Best Mythos Tales) (Hardcover)
This is a great book, with many of excellent stories. Brian Lumley gives nice little intro's before each story. I'd recommend this for any fan of Lumley.
