I purchased this book before I took a sailboat tour of Haida Gwaii. It certainly brought out many things I would NOT have known if I hadn't read it first. It was very helpful and i will remain in my library as a strong book for Haida Gwaii. My cruise took us to 6 ancient sites we would never have found if we had tried this on our own. I positively encourage people to take a tour where the tour includes hiking to the ancient sites. You'll never find them on your own I always make a complete notebook of where I've traveled and this book gave me so many important facts about the Islands that I didn't have to record on paper as I was on the tour. It was a big help for writing my story after the cruise. However, I still believe you shouldn't try to do his on your own. You just won't find some of those hidden ancient sites without a knowledgeable guide. Betty.

Haida Gwaii: Journeys Through the Queen Charlotte Islands is a great book with beautifully told stories accompanied by wonderfull pictures.
