I often route for the underdog when it comes to DVD players. Most people usually opt for the name brands, but not me. I have owned a number of off-brand machines
over the years, and many have suited me quite well. This player is no exception. I was immediately impressed with the exceptionally clear picture, and bright colors I experienced when using the component video inputs through my older Sharp CRT TV set. This DVD player is a real gem. Although it is advertised as being a black player, it is not. It is a bright, shiny metallic silver color, and has a very solid feel to it. The picture is truly amazing, and not at all what I expected for the price. If you're looking for something nice that won't break your budget, this Haier will fit the bill nicely. With its wide array of features, and solid construction, you simply can't go wrong for the price. A very good buy.

Only had this unit s few weeks & it played fine,then the very day I threw away the box I went to play a movie & it would not go past the fbi warning,so I opened & closed it several times & finally went only to freeze up many times.Brand new movies to.So instead of ttrying to return with no box,I lose 40$ because I smashed into little bits then into the trash.I dont know if there are any good players out there that will play more than a few weeks or months,what a peice of crap!

This is a very good DVD player, totally region code free, and the price is amazing. I would recommend it to friends.
