This unit is very quite and cools a rather large den (40 X 20) w/o overworking the unit. The unit has many functions including a money saving mode & a quite mode. I can place the unit in both money saving & quite mode and it cools the room efficiently when the outside temperture is > 90 degrees. I have had this unit for 1-year now w/o any problems.

I bought this unit a little over a year ago. Worked great last summer, but this year it stopped producing cold air, and the coils freeze over.
Of course, the warranty on parts and labor ran out 2 weeks after the problems started, but there is a 5 year warranty on the "sealed system", which I suspect is the culprit in this case. After emailing the company twice and getting no response, I called them. First time, their computers were down, and I was told I'd get a call back in 48 hours. One week later I called again and spoke to someone who gave me two numbers for Haier service dealers in my area. Neither of them service Haier window units. Called again a week later, and got a list of other places that only sell Haier products. I bought this thinking it was a more eco-friendly choice. Ironically it's probably going to end up in the garbage after one year.

Great little unit! Quiet for a window unit and cools a 700sqf area in the Houston, August heat!
