This tv has a really nice picture and has a good feature set however the sound is horrible. The minute you turn the tv up to a reasonable level the base distorts horribly. I played with every eq setting and turned the base complete down still sounds awful. I ended up buying a set of wireless speakers. I know a lot of people will use this in a bed room or a kids room and don't want to add speakers. I am not picky when it comes to audio and was not looking for ultra performance. However these built in speaker are not equipped to handle any reasonable volume.

I bought this from target's website for my daughter's room. The picture is OK, the black could be blacker. As the other reviewer said the sound is awful. You need external speakers if you plan on sitting more than a few feet away to watch anything. Its very slim and looks cool however all the inputs are located in the back so all the cords have to plug straight into the back preventing the tv from being mounted flush against the wall. I bought a low profile peerless mount and cannot use it because the tv needs to be about an inch or more off the wall to accommodate the cords.

i had this tv a few monthes before the speakers were shot... which i could live with because we had it hooked up to our stereo. But shortly after that it started powering off in the middle of watching something. It then cannot be turned back on until it is unplugged and re-plugged in. I've emailed and called Haier, they said to find a repair shop because I was past my 90-day warranty. since it is only few monthes old, i am cutting my losses. i had hoped for a small, energy-efficient set, but am sorely dissapointed.

so... i purchased three of these because we needed them for bedrooms. they look great with our decor and mount beautifully to the wall on an articulated arm. as other reviewers have said, the sound quality is very very poor. i would have rated this product two stars except i bought them back when they were under $200 (I think i paid something ridiculous like $169.99) and i do feel that, in general, you get what you pay for. as gran says "buy cheap, buy twice". so i can't complain too much. however, i'd never pay what they are now asking for these... especially when you can get a better name brand for not a whole lot more.

I bought this and returned it the next day. How bad is it? Let me count the ways. First, the sound is horrendous. Tiny, pinched, squeaky, unlistenable. I tried every audio equalization possible, but the itty bitty speakers in this TV just don't cut it. I was replacing a 6-year-old Sanyo 19". Hard to believe the sound from a TV at least 3 generations old eats this one for breakfast. Second, the so-called Haier customer service is non-existant. I had to sync the TV up with my universal remote, provided by my cable company. I had been given 2 codes numbers by Comcast, but neither one worked. Comcast told me I had to call Haier to get the specific number for this unit. In desperation I called the Haier customer service number (no mean feat since they bury the number in mouse type in the middle of the warranty) and was put on hold for - count 'em - 35 minutes. Then someone came on and I told her my problem. She said she couldn't do anything about it, but she would have a technician call me back immediately. 24 hours later, no phone call. I went on the Haier website and was not at all surprised to discover my TV was not mentioned. After 20 minutes of fishing I finally found a way to learn my code. But no, according to Haier, this TV (maybe all of them) does not work with a universal remote. How's that for 21st century technology? I gave this thing one star because it has a decent picture. Pretty good tv. Seems very bright. However White people seem almost orange... Worked on the settings still no luck. I can live with it.

I needed a white TV for my kitchen counter to blend in with the surroundings and did online research. I originally wanted a size smaller but after looking at the specs realized I could fit this model in. The TV has a beautiful sleek white frame and had a price tag that matched the smaller models of this and other makes.
It looks great and functions very nicely. Perfect for kitchen or bath!

Very nice small TV. White looks great. I use it for bedroom and also as a PC monitor. Picture quality is not bad and with some adjustment, was able to make peoples face not so orange/red. Also many reviews note the terrible sound quality. I also got distortion when you try to use higher volume. I turned off the SRS TS XT and now no distortion. Great buy.

This a great TV considering I spent $167 for it when it was on sale before Christmas. I mainly use this for blurays and gaming. The picture is phenomenal for gaming and movies but the sound could use much improvement. Instead I often will listen to the movies and games by plugging in my Sennheiser headphones directly into the back of it. This was actually the second one of these I got, the first one had a dead pixel and I returned it for this one and this one has been awesome. The picture is beautiful and the colors are amazing. I have had this for over 6 months and it still works just fine. Good low cost television.
