I bought this for our office and was extremely dissatisfied with it. It stopped working after only 8 months of light use (storing our milk for coffee). Save yourself some grief and get a better known brand.

I just had to submit a review for this item. Despite some of the dismal reviews of this frige, the $ price was too good to pass up. I purchased it from [retail seller] with an ad from [second seller], which [first seller] matched. I bought it to put under my desk at work (4'x 4' cube) so I only sit about 6 inches from it. It is so quiet that I hardly know it's there. It makes a tiny static noise on my computer speakers when the compressor kicks on and off.
As far as freezing everything, I have not had that problem. I put a 'refrigerator' thermometer in and from day one it kept the refrigerator part in the range recommended on the thermometer with it set on 3 to 4. I have kept two frozen dinners in the freezer part and they are frozen solid.
Just like anything else, sometimes you just get a 'bad' one.

I received this as a gift and at first, thought it was much too large for my office cubicle. But it fit perfectly, with plenty of room to spare. It is very quiet, and I've not had any problems with refrigerated items freezing, as noted in other reviews. I keep the temperature set at "3" and the freezer compartment works very well. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a small refrigerator for office or dorm use.

I needed a mini-frige for my home office and saw this little gem at a decent price so I bought it. Little did I know I was buying such a heap. It's loud, freezes everything, ever tried drinking from a frozen milk carton? If you don't get enough junk mail, put an order in for this piece of misery.

Never heard of this brand name, but there engineers obviously work "haier" than their competition.

i had read all the reviews and decided on this one. its fantastic. i got it at best buy for $65, and it has worked perfectly. it is larger than i thought,i could probably fit more than 50 sodas in it. i highly reccomend this.

This is a great little fridge for an office or dorm room. I have had no trouble with the unit freezing food as noted in earlier reviews, so I suspect this is a problem that Haier has addressed in newer models. In fact, unlike other mini fridges I have owned, the fridge part keeps things nice and cold, and the freezer part actually keeps things frozen. If you need a great little fridge for not a lot of money, this is it! (you may want to check out this same fridge at Best Buy though: www.bestbuy.com. They offer free shipping, which can save you a lot of money.)

After reading the other reviews, I was a little concerned about this refrigerator, but I must say after receiving it, I am pleasantly surprised. The unit is extremely quiet and with the setting on the lowest number, it keeps everything very cold but nothing has frozen. As far as I am concerned, I would recommend it.

I have no doubt that this little fridge is going to be fantastic based on these reviews. The only problem is that I paid TWICE as much for this one (120$) when it's being offered at BestBuy for 65 and there's NO shipping!!! Also, be forewarned that if you place an order your window of opportunity isn't more than 5 minutes to cancel it with amazon.com. I found the besy buy offer 5 minutes later, came to my account here to cancel and it was "already in the shipping process" and yet I'm going to have to wait a full week for it to get here. Again, I'm sure the fridge is great but the cost and service are not.

I bought the Haier Compact Refrigerator & Freezer about 4 months ago. It was difficult to control the temp in the first 2 days of operation. The door shelf is small (it would've been perfect had they not squeezed in another shelf)and hard to fit much into. the freezer does accumulate some ice but I stopped using the item before the ice got thick. the bottom shelf refrigerates nicely while the top shelf outside of and under the freezer, freezes almost everything. Other then that I'd say this freezer is worth the money but I'd recommend it more for more light use. Oh, and according to the energystar label, this particular appliance is not energy efficiant costing about $26 per year to run.

I just bought got this fridge and it makes a ton of noise. The noise will cut off for a few minutes then it will come back on, and the process repeats...Anyone else have problems like this?
