Nice unit. unfortunately the part number HVTS06BSS displayed on the amazon site should have been the stainless steel version. The black version showed up. Still, they offered to refund the shipping and discount the unit a bit so we decided to keep it. Its works very nicely. Very quiet and compact.

I did not have any of the problem mentioned by the other buyers. I got the silver model, everything works fine. It is quiet, it cools well. I bought it in December 2009. We had several days with the temperature close to the 90s and we don't use air conditioning in the house, and everything worked perfectly. Obviously the cellar is hidden from direct light.
The dimensions are great, and it can fit long bottles. I do recommend this product.

This is less a review of the product and more a suggestion to be wary of purchasing from [...]. Don't be fooled by the "free shipping" offer. My Haier wine cellar was shipped, cross country, in its original flimsy cardboard box...with a few pieces of styrofoam inside but nothing else. The box wasn't packed in anything sturdier or re-inforced with any further padding. When it arrived it looked as though it had tumbled down a large hill. The box had holes torn in it and was crushed in several places. When I opened it, the wine cellar itself was dented and something inside, near the motor, had been crushed to the point that it was peeking out from the inside. There were also several large scratches on various parts of the wine cellar. It may have worked wonderfully had I purchased it from a company that knew how to pack and ship a somewhat fragile appliance. But I will never know. I will say that both [...] and Amazon were quite helpful in expediting the return of the cellar and a prompt refund of the entire purchase price including shipping. But it would have been nice had I actually got to use the cellar and not had to return it.

Clearly pic shows stainless steel or silver not black cabinet! Something the shipper needs to describe before anyone orders this! I am giving this as a gift!! Now what am i to do,??? Tell him to return it? I am very disappointed in this order, i clearly sent them notice that item is to be in same color in pic not in black!! What is the matter with having a picture of the actual item and color?? What else are we not aware of??
