It is not "bamboo", it is a cheap plastic which pretends to look like bamboo.
Also, it is not a "cellar", but rather a cooler. You may set the thermostat to a certain temperature, but it would not be able to reach it. Thermoelectric technology can only provide a certain step down from the room temperature, which can never be more than 20F. That is if a room temperature is 78F -- the lowest possible temperature in the cooler could never be less than 58F, even if set it to be 48F. Also, it is anything but quiet. Yes, the thermoelectric technology is noiseless by itself, but it can not work without two big fans, which provide a permanent buzzing sound. Not so loud, but very well noticeable. Other than that it is nice toy for a wine enthusiast.

Yay! Keeps reds cool even in Texas, and if you stick a plant on top of it, looks OK in dining room.
