1. It looks cool with the silver metal accents, tinted glass, illuminated interior with a cool blue light, and metal racks.

2. It keeps the bottles at an even temperature regardless of the ambient temperature which as anyone knows is the greatest factor in wine stability.

3. It doesn't have settings for humidity or dual-zone temperatures, but...

I liked this wine cooler when we first got it to replace the compressor driven Avanti unit that finally quit on us after 7 years. Unfortunately, I discovered that it is now totally dead. Just outside of the warranty period, I'm stuck with a big warm cooler full of wine bottles. Total failure of the unit in some component. Even the LED lights won't work. Very...

1. It looks cool with the silver metal accents, tinted glass, illuminated interior with a cool blue light, and metal racks.

2. It keeps the bottles at an even temperature regardless of the ambient temperature which as anyone knows is the greatest factor in wine stability.

3. It doesn't have settings for humidity or dual-zone temperatures, but quite honestly I don't plan on keeping expensive 100-year old bottles stored in this thing that require such exquisite delicacy.

4. It is super-quiet. All you hear is a fan that turns on and off occasionally. I have it next to my hi-fi system and there is absolutely no interference whatsoever.

5. If you want a good-looking wine storage appliance that has a small footprint and keeps your bottles cooler than your pantry and warmer than the fridge without extra hassles, then this is the product for you.

Very disappointed with this Haier product and will not be buying additional Haier products anytime soon.

I bought the unit for my wife for christmas. Got it out of the box set it up and it worked for 2 months then died. After attempting to get assistance from the company I finally got thru. They wanted me to do a few things to get a new unit shipped out all of which are fine except paying for shipping I explained that I paid to have it shipped once and didn't break the item why should I pay to get a second shipped. I think that they as explained thru their mission statement should stand by there product. The unit does look good and when it works it is nice just cross your fingers and hope is doesn't break.

We bought one of these 14 months ago. It just stopped working one day. The repair service person quoted us ~$220 to repair it! It cost us less to buy it. The unit seem to blown a fuse and the whole board needed to be replaced. The design is so poor that it is labor intensive to replace the board. I called Haier to see if they would extend their warranty since the unit malfunctioned just 2 months after their 1-year warranty policy. They would not extend or do anything. In fact, they recommend I do not have the unit repaired. They said I should toss it and just buy a new one!!! The service company they referred me to claimed they don't like repairing the unit because it is time consuming and the lead time to get the board is long. They only warrant the repair for 90 days. So now we are using it as a wine rack! Bummer!!! DON'T BUY FROM HAIER...BAD DESIGN AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

My first unit quit within one week and I exchanged it for a new one. While this is supposed to be "silent" the fans are noisy and increase in noise over time, after which the unit stops working. I'm past the year warranty now, so it goes to a landfill. It's criminal to make a major appliance that has to go to the landfill in 12 months. Avoid this product.

This product is terrible, wish we listened to the poor reviews we read elsewhere that were right on the money. Basically this unit lasts for about 6 months. After that the fan starts getting louder and louder till it ceases to work. That's it. If you buy this item don't say you weren't warned because you're in for a surprise.

I purchased this wine cooler which lasted roughly one year and ceased to cool.
I opened it and found problems with the power supplies (both) which I repaired as I am skilled in that area, still no cooling.
Replaced both thermoelectric coolers (TEC1-12705) and all 4 fans (two external and two internal fans as they were getting noisy) and it cooled for almost 3 months before one of the thermoelectric coolers failed and blew another fuse in the power supply.
Short end of it... Thermoelectric (Peltier Effect) coolers are great when they work but they tend to gradually decrease in performance as condensation causes corrosion between the junctions that ends up resulting in a short which blows the fuse in the power supply.
This unit isn't very well made and as you can tell from MANY MANY negative reviews will sadly fail despite it's great looks.
I may repair mine once more and then switch to a compressor model because I don't have the time or patience to repair it every few months.

I received this as a Christmas gift. I really like how it is tall and skinny, and not like a mini refrigerator. While it worked there was no issue and it kept wine at a good temperature. Seems to use quite a bit of electricity though - after I got it my electric bill went up by almost $10 a month.

Not even 4 months later - on 4/8, maybe earlier the unit stopped working. Light wont turn on and neither will the refrigerator. I may look into having it repaired - since it sounds like it is likely that if I get a replacement unit that it will break down too.

Bought this at Lowes for $150. Returned it a few weeks later. The motor hardly ever shuts off, and when it does, it will for about 15 seconds and then start again. And this was while it was on its lowest setting for reds. Plus the motor is not "whisper quiet" as they claim. Kind of sounds like a small fan running. My friend has a larger model and it makes no such noise. Does cool fine though.

DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR!!!!

I registered for this item for my wedding shower. One of my guests purchased it and I was super excited. I got it home and opened the box, the whole back of the unit was dented in and it would not turn on. I went to the store that it was purchased at and they ordered me a new one. A month after I get home from work and the unit is making a very loud noise and the fan was not working. All of the wine was now warm and I had to throw some of it away. I called and after being on the phone with customer service for some time trying to explain to them I will not be paying for shipping a new unit and they should be grateful I registered for the product they waived the fee and sent me a new one. The 3rd unit last another month and the same thing. I get home from work and it is very loud. This time I called to talk to a manager and she was very rude!!! I demanded I get a full refund or a product of better quality. She refused and said in order for that to happen I have to get another unit from their warehouse. I guess if I went to through them for the first one, I would of received a refund. She was not manager material, at all!!! So after 3 units, we sending back 2 plugs certified mail, I am waiting for my 4th unit to arrive.

I read the review about the letter to the CEO, I may just do that! This company has nerve!!! They should be grateful people are still purchasing their products.
