This item was purchased as a gift for a friend with extensive collection of rather old wines. If you are concerned with the crumbling of older, dried out cork, this is the product for you, it pulls these types of corks as if they were brand new corks. This is a great product and I highly recommend it.

I challenge anyone to find a better price for a set like this. Truth be told, one could probably go without the extras in this set, but given that it does come with an automatic, electric wine bottle opener, this is the cheapest set I've been able to find. It comes with a charger for the electric opener, and anything else you might possibly want as a gift for a wine-lover, including yourself. The other electric openers I've seen are actually more expensive than this whole set, so it's a good deal. The only downside is that the metal bottle chiller is very small, and doesn't allow for champagne bottles or ice. Still, I thought it was a fun set, and works really well.

Thought this was a nifty gadget until 40 days in, the charging base died! What a piece of junk!! I tried different outlets, even though I knew the one is was plugged into was hot. I removed the cord and reinserted it and made sure the contacts were clear of any cork debris. I'm sure it is the base and not the rechargable battery in the unit because the light also went out on the base. I would recommend the Oster. I purchased one of those for a gift and it's been a champ. Forget Haier, it's cheaply made but comparable in price to the Oster. Of course I just passed the 30 day return policy and now have to call Haier to see if I can get a refund under the warranty, but it will probably entail sending the entire thing back to them at my expense and waiting for a replacement base. What a disappointment!! Stay away from this one...

The Electronic wine opener wokrs sometimes, half of the time it takes a couple trys to get it out completly, and the other half of the time,the cork breaks in half, and the whole task is hard to accomplish. This product is deffinatly not reccomended for industraial places(Restraunts,Bars,ect.). But its primary use is for home.Haier has allot more problem solving to do in their design, but who knows next week. They can have a whole new wine opening series which opens the wine bottle with a touch of a finger. In sum, if you feel like chancing this product, go for it, if you dont, the decison is in the wind.
