Our office's 10 year old microwave oven finally broke down and needed to be replaced in a hurry. After searching on amazon.com and reading descriptions and reviews of dozens of microwaves, I chose this Haier model. It arrived within 2 days, we set it up, and have been using it these past two weeks. It's easy to use without reading the manual, since we mostly do re-heating, cooking packaged frozen meals, heating water for coffee or tea, and defrosting our home cooked meals. Love that it has: a handle - so no stuck latches; a glass door instead of plastic like our previous oven; Clock and panel that we can see from any angle - again, unlike our previous oven. Love that it is a nice clean looking design in the stainless steel. The only complaint I have heard is that some people dislike that it buzzes 5 times to tell you it is done, and people can hear it down the hall in their offices. So you are forewarned if the buzzing would be a problem for you.

Just to Update: as of August 8, 2011, oven still working great. Absolutely no problems.

The price tag of $99 might make you think you are getting only a very small microwave, but that's not the case at all. This one is pretty much full size on the inside, with a 12 1/2" turntable (included with microwave), while still looking compact on the outside. Perfect for people with limited counter space. The open / close handle feature is also great. Microwave came packaged very well and secure. No dents or scratches. So far I am very satisfied.

Well I like it. I like the control panel. I can set up lots of auto timing with it, Which means all I have to do is punch one button. It took a little learning form the intruction book, but I got the hang of it.I think it's a great deal for the money.

I had some reluctance ordering this unit because of the low price however it has proven very reliable. It meets all the basic functions and has a all the expected preset options. The stainless steel finish is nice and overall construction is good. For the money this is an excellent purchase. Considering that the microwave is usually used for heating up leftovers, boiling water, and basic tasks I see know reason to purchase the larger and much more expensive units.

This microwave has been great so far, and my only wish was that the process used to start a timed cook was more standard. The instructions ARE in the manual, but in order to put a plate of food in and cook it for 45 seconds, you must:

- Press "Power"
- Key in "45"
- Press "Start"

The added step of pressing "Power" at the beginning threw me off, and seems out of place. Hopefully this will help other/future users.

Very attractive metal finish..glass door with handle an improvement over my previous model.. beeps loudly 5 times when finished cooking... a real bargain for the $99 price.....

Well then, my 17 year old Quasar microwave finally kicked the bucket. This microwave looked nice. I ordered it and it arrived quickly and perfectly packaged. The day was saved, and she worked just fine for about 4 weeks, then it fell victim to some kind of serious problem involving arcing, smoke, and a large burnt area on the plastic wheel ring that goes under the glass carousel plate. I was heating up coffee in a regular cup when this happened. Tried it again and the same thing, so.... back she went. Oh yeah, before that, I called Haier's trouble line... it was having trouble. A nice, giggling young man answered and said that they would have to call me back, there was trouble. He took my info, and sadly, they never called back. I hope they fixed the trouble and got out alive.

Our replacement beautiful Haier MWM10100SS microwave arrived on the step a few days later, again perfectly packaged and in fine condition. It worked great for about 4 weeks (alas, it was the magic of the 4th week). This time it started making a very loud grinding sound, and acted as if it was a horrible struggle to turn that glass carousel plate. Again, I was just heating up coffee, which accounts for 99% of my microwave use. I would NEVER heat up actual FOOD in it. :)

After listening to this grinding laborious noise for about 4 days, I have come to the conclusion that she isn't going to be with us much longer. Amazon is sending a UPS guy to haul this puppy away. Not going to chance this brand again.

Great microwave, I really like the the 1 button time selections. I like this microwave, I have always had bigger microwaves in the past but I am more than satisfied with this microwave. It also looks nice and I am glad it doesn't take up too much room in the kitchen.

works great, no problems at all.

the pure stainless steel surface is easy to clean, modern-looking, and resistant to abuse (you can put a hot skillet on its top, which is useful in my case because of my cramped kitchen)

everything the same, this model offers a much more economical option than the Panasonic, Philips brands etc.

I have had this Haier microwave for about 2 weeks now.

Upgrading from a smaller, less expensive GE microwave, this Haier has been a dream so far. Where my last microwave was so loud you might mistake it for a dying, screaming moose, this one is very quiet while in use. You can barely tell that it's running. With its sleek stainless steel finish, it's sexier and more modern than the previous one. I LOVE the handle, as opposed to the cheaper ovens that have the push button open mechanism that will inevitably fail to function. Trust me, nothing's worse than that cheap push button getting stuck when you're already running late to work (try telling that to your boss)! The control panel is repsonsive and easy to use. Best of all, my food is finally cooking evenly.

I think that this microwave is a great value for everything you get. To find a 1.0 cubic foot, 1000 watt oven for less than $100 is nothing short of amazing. Granted, I've only owned it a short while, so if anything changes, I'll be sure to update my review. Right now, however, I think it's a great appliance at a very reasonable price and I highly recommend it.

** UPDATE ** I am now 2 months in and this oven is still working like a champ. I use it every single day, sometimes multiple times a day. Although I am in a one person household, I've had no problems and still think it's a great value for your money.
