This review is from: Haier MWM6600RW 0.6 Cubic Foot 600-Watt Rotary Microwave, White (Kitchen)
This is the smallest microwave I could find, so it saves a little counter space. I was a bit worried that a full sized dinner plate wouldn't fit into it, but a dinner plate fits with room to spare. If you don't need to microwave a full chicken or turkey on a regular basis (and honestly, who does?), this microwave is almost certainly large enough for your needs.I have to agree with a previous reviewer about that giant sticker, though - that thing was horribly annoying to take off, and has left a nasty, scuzzy scar in its wake. I'm pretty sure the scuzzy scar isn't as bad as the sticker itself was, but an awesome third option would be NOT having the sticker on there in the first place. Also, this is going to sound silly, but the door is a little hard to get open in contrast to the weight of the microwave. Maybe it will loosen with time, but right now the machine itself moves a half to a full inch every time I open the door. And finally, for ultimate pettiness, I'd like to mention that the "done" chime is louder and harsher than I'd like. Still, for the price and the size? Pretty good little machine. I'd buy it again.

Great for older users,

I was looking for a small microwave for my Mom who, at 89, has limited tolerance for anything with a keypad. Came across this product which uses knobs rather than a keypad. Excellent! Very easy to use, and the knobs are easy to grasp and turn for those with limited hand strength and poor eyesight. The door is also easy to grasp and open. She's had zero problems using it.It's not strong in terms of power (only 600 watts), size, or functions, but if you're looking for a plane-Jane, easy to use microwave, this should be on your list. Shipping was very quick, but packaging was poor (sent in the box as-is without any additional packing).

Decent RV microwave, draws 950 watts,
By JK (Dairyland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Haier MWM6600RW 0.6 Cubic Foot 600-Watt Rotary Microwave, White (Kitchen)
This model is nice for RVs because it is fairly low power draw (950 watts listed, but there's a surge at startup; I run it off a 1500 watt inverter with no problems) and it uses dials instead of electronic buttons, so it doesn't think it needs to be reset every time you unplug it. It's small enough to fit inside of an overhead cabinet with room for ventilation. At 600 watts cooking power, it can take a while to heat food up, but it gets the job done, and the turntable is a nice touch.

Great unit - Sure Way To Remove Darn Sticker WD40,

This review is from: Haier MWM6600RW 0.6 Cubic Foot 600-Watt Rotary Microwave, White (Kitchen)
This unit is a very good, inexpensive microwave. I agree with all reviews praising this unit.BUT I have seen many reviews where people complain about the BIG STICKER on the clear window in the unit door. It is very tough to take off, impossible to just peel it off and all water based cleaners will NOT remove the glue mess left behind BUT WD40 works great! STICKER REMOVAL without a trace - GONE!: First take as much of the sticker/paper off using your finger nail or credit card (BE CAREFUL). Don't use a hard item they will scratch the clear plastic window. To remove what's left, like all that nasty glue film, just use WD 40, works like magic and does NOT harm the window at all. Once all the glue is gone, just clean with Windex to pristine. Apparently this sticker uses an oil based glue, so most cleaners don't touch it. But WD 40 cuts right through it, removing everything without a trace. Great Microwave, especially without that obnoxious sticker!

Simple,
This review is from: Haier MWM6600RW 0.6 Cubic Foot 600-Watt Rotary Microwave, White (Kitchen)
I seems this is the only microwave in the known universe that operates using just a simple knob. I don't want a numeric keypad on a microwave! Really, must I specify the time TO THE PRECISE SECOND just to reheat a slice of lasagna? Too much work. With this one you have to 1. twist the knob. There is no step 2! I don't need another clock, especially if it needs to be reset every time the power fails. No keypads and no display on this microwave also means zero power consumption unless it's being used. This is a major plus, and my sole reason for buying this one. Open the door, put in your plate, and twist the knob. A pleasant "ding" lets you know when it's done. No obnoxious beeping. Or, just twist the knob counterclockwise to shut it off. Easy. It fits a standard (11 inch) dinner plate. Anything bigger than 11" won't fit so measure your plates if that's what you want to do with them. If only there were other choices of style, color, or power, but no. Until Apple invents a microwave with a simple user interface, this is it. For what it is though (small and ugly) it gets five stars. If someone made a nice 1500W microwave in stainless or black, with a twist knob like this one, I'd buy it. I don't care what it costs. Ditto the obnoxious label on the panel. Whoever decided to use anything other than an easily removable peel-off label on a clear plastic window ought to be flogged. Fortunately it's easily removable using WD-40 as another reviewer suggested. WD-40 is great stuff.

For anyone who saw my other review (Nokia 6010) you're gonna think I'm too old fashioned but not true. I just love simplicity. I bought this product for my 85 year old mother who can't see or understand the fancy digital microwave oven with all the displays and buttons a well meaning friend got her. This one is perfect. Just turn the knob and it dings when done! One complaint - the inside doesn't light up when the door opens. (The door by the way just pulls open - no buttons to find or press- wow what inovation!) I would have preferred a light to help her see but it's OK as is. Hence the missing star. Delivery was fast, packed in factory sealed box. No problems.

Inexpensive, functional, but frail,
By Minty Busby "Minty" (Eastern Oregon) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Haier MWM6600RW 0.6 Cubic Foot 600-Watt Rotary Microwave, White (Kitchen)
I've been using this microwave for somewhere around 6 to 8 months. I donno, maybe a bit less. It works every time, warms everything nicely and evenly, so that much is good. However, I had a couple problems early on. Of course as has been previously mentioned, I had issues with being able to open the door relative to the weight of the microwave and its ability to stay in place. I solved that problem by holding onto the stationary part of the microwave with one hand while pulling the door with the other. Good thing I have two hands or I'd be screwed. My fingers aren't long enough to push the microwave while pulling the handle with one hand. More on this in a moment. But next what happened was the little round thing with wheels on it came off track, and I put it back and stuff, but that thing comes off track several times a week. I turn on the microwave and a minute or so later suddenly I hear this rattling and clunking, I look in, and sure enough, that glass tray is jostling and jerking my soup all over the microwave. I now use larger bowls for the same amount of soup. Now back to the handle issue. Well, as I said, my solution was to hold onto the microwave while pulling on the handle. That worked for a couple weeks, but then I discovered the handle isn't even strong enough for how hard it is to pull it open. It's thin plastic, and it physically broke. Now there's a giant horizontal crack from left to right straight across the middle of the handle. Now it's even harder to open. But it operates. It warms my food and drinks wonderfully, what stays in the dishes, so it isn't all bad. I just need to learn to spend more money less often instead of less money more often.

We were looking for a microwave for a dorm. Had to be 600 watts. Very hard to find. This has controls on the front which is important for ease of use. Found 20 sellers on Amazon but only one had the microwave in stock. It arrived in perfect condition. Advice is to look early.

Just Right,

This review is from: Haier MWM6600RW 0.6 Cubic Foot 600-Watt Rotary Microwave, White (Kitchen)
This little oven is just right for me. It is small, just what I wanted. It is simple, dials for time and power level. It is only 600 watts so it doesn't work has fast as others, but since I only reheat things, it works fast enough for me.This might not be suitable for folks doing real cooking in a microwave, or for those who want speed, or those who use the microwave for big platters or bowls, or those who want to push one button for potato, popcorn, defrost, and so on. But it is just right for me. The only tiny shortcoming, for me, is the time is in increments of full minutes. I'd like to be able to set it to say, 25 seconds to heat up a pastry. But really, since speed isn't important to me, I have the time to stay close and count down the seconds when I need to.
