Unit seemed like a nice idea since it has many functions, but I found that none of them worked that well. The CD/DVD player repeated failed to load disks but would work eventually and was getting better the more we tried discs in it. One DVD with no scratches would skip every few seconds while all the others I tried worked fine. The speakers were not very good given the price of the unit. The radio tuner was alright though it was one of the old style manual knobs instead of something digital, which I thought was kinda cheap. The TV portion didn't work since where I'm at (Seaside, OR) doesn't have a UHF signal being broadcast, but that wasn't why I bought it so no big deal. The latch for the lid seemed very flimsy but I didn't have the unit long enough for it to break. But all that would have been alright except that the unit WOULD NOT CHARGE. Since it didn't work, I returned it and did not get a replacement.

The first Haier boombox we ordered did not work. We shipped the product back at our expense plus ins. We contacted Etronics the distributor of the problem. They sent back another boombox that had the same problem as the first one. The TV did not work and the unit would not charge. Once again we contacted Haier of the problem. They said they would send a new battery pack. They did. It was the wrong one. We then returned the box at Etronic's expense and are waiting for our refund. The entire matter has been frustrating and expensive.

My wife and I travel quite a bit in our RV and we often stay where there are no ac hookups. We purchased this product so that we could watch tv or a DVD movie when we have no electric available to us. This unit is actually a complete home entertainment system in one compact unit. The LCD screen has very nice picture quality and the audio is excellent. It runs on ac and it also has it's own Ni-Mh rechargeable battery built in as well. I was disappointed in that it does not have RCA type audio/video inputs as most electronic items of today do, but you can get around this by using the RF type input (the same as your TV has). We have our Satelite receiver connected to ours via an RG56 cable from the output of the Satelite receiver to the RF input of the Haier Boombox. I then tune it to channel 3 and can receive satelite TV. It does have some very nice features, such as a remote control that has a menu item for adjusting picture quality or fine tuning various TV stations. It also has a 12 volt auto cord to run the unit from your car or RV. I am a retired professional video producer and was very impressed with this item. We have had this item for a little over a month now and are completely satisfied. I give this item 5 stars!

this boombox is okay. but i wish it had a digital radio tuner instead of a manual tuner. also it will only play store bought dvds; it won't play burned dvds without a lot of skipping and freezing

I purchased from hsn and once i finalized the order, i read the horrible reviews. My first thought was to cancel, but I am glad I didn't. I bought it primarily for the tv and have had no problems, only the remote. I think my nephews screwed it up, which they did watch dvd's from Alabama to Chicago. I called Haier and they sent me another. I don't use it since I have it right next to me on my desk at work. Everyone that comes in my office wants one, but hsn no longer sales them. I am glad I found it here. I am currently researching if I will need a converter box for it. Thank you!!

I purchased this so I could watch dvd's while at work, it works great I just love it.
