Poor Quality - Mistake to Buy,
By
This review is from: Haier WDQS005 Water Dispenser (Tools & Hardware)
I have been making purchases of all kinds of merchandise from Amazon.Com for over two years. I was always more than satisfied with the products quality and service received from Amazon. But purchasing this $99 dollar Haier Water Dispenser was the biggest mistake I ever made. I owned it for 1 month. Could never get the water cold enough to enjoy (no temp control) and it always had a funny plastic taste. Called their (Haier) tech support. They were terrific people and tried to help. But there was no answer for those problems. Just purchased a $200 dollar, brand name water cooler from my spring water deliver man. It has a temp adjustment and the water is icy cold. Also the water tastes like it should - no plastic taste. I'm delighted with it. Wish I could have said the same about my purchase from Amazon of the Haier Water Dispenser. I placed the Haier unit at the curb the other day and watched the trash man throw it in the back of the trash compactor truck. Amazon - do yourself a favor - get rid of this dog...

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Haier WDQS005 Water Dispenser (Tools & Hardware)
I hardly ever write a negative review, but I suggest you avoid this product. On the plus side, it is a good price for a water dispenser. I was excited to replace my old water cooler with this new one at a very good price. Two problems. 1. The water comes out SUPER SLOW. It's half the speed of a my last model. No big deal you think -- but you'd be surprised how annoying this becomes by your 10th cup! 2. The cold doesn't get that cold. Again, not a huge deal, but if you like your cold water sort of, well, cold, this isn't the unit for you. Very disappointing.

piece of junk with horrible customer service,
This review is from: Haier WDQS005 Water Dispenser (Tools & Hardware)
If I could give this company negative scores I would.I ordered this as a gift for my mom. It broke the week after it was purchased (new) and left a giant puddle of water in her kitchen. Then the jerks at Haier promised to send her a new unit but keep telling us "the shipment was lost" or "there was a problem". What a waste of money. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!!

Bum Product,

Enjoyed this product for about 3 months. That's when I came home and found it had sprung a leak and ruined my kitchen floor. Do yourself a favor and don't purchase this item.

Horrible Purchase,
This review is from: Haier WDQS005 Water Dispenser (Tools & Hardware)
I have had the same problems that the other customers have had. When we first purchased the water dispenser the water tasted terrible. That lasted for about three to four months. After considerable use the taste has finally gone away.A few days ago we came into the office to find a gigantic puddle of water on the floor. The water dipenser had leaked and flodded five gallons of water all over our carpet. We are in the process of trying to replace the unit right now. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!! IT DOES NOT WORK!!!

It really is terrible...,

I saw the reviews for this product after I had purchased this item and figured that since there were so few reviews, that perhaps only dissatisfied individuals had reviewed it. However, pretty much everything mentioned in the other reviews happened to me. So I'll list the reasons why I really don't like this.1. It makes the water taste awful sporadically. One cup will be fine, the next will taste a little bad, the next will be fine, then the next will taste and smell like a cross between plastic and gasoline. I made all my friends drink the water just to make sure it wasn't my wife and I being biased after reading the bad reviews, and they thought it was awful too. 2. It heats the water in the 5 gallon bottle too. The bottle actually feels warm. Turn off the heater and it cools noticeably. Seems kind of self-defeating to heat all the water and then have to waste energy cooling off the pre-warmed water. Seems the designers forgot that warm water is less dense and will travel back up into the tank from the water heater if given the opportunity. 3. It smells. That crappy little computer fan blows the plastic smell all over my kitchen. Even after a month the machine still reeks. 4. The hot water tank isn't as hot as its supposed to be. I think the manual says the temperature is supposed to be from the upper 160s to around 198 degrees fahrenheit. Being a tea aficionado I need at least 180 degree water to make tea. If the machine was actually over 165 that would have been tolerable, but the highest I ever measured the temp was 152...but it was usually in the 140s. 5. It runs the refrigerator about 20 out of 24 hours. Even if the beast is energy star compliant it sits there running all day. Maybe its poorly insulated, who knows. But whenever it cools that fan is running and stinking everything up. Summary: I only recommend this cooler to employers who are trying to poison their employees with horrible drinking water. If you like nice clean, filtered water--stay away, because tap water in Mexico is probably better for drinking then anything that goes in this machine.

SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,
This review is from: Haier WDQS005 Water Dispenser (Tools & Hardware)
We thought the first one was defective. So we sent it back and ordered a new one. It heats the entire 5 gallon of water, the fans stink, and the water comes out slow. Save your money!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like others bought the water cooler about the same time as us....ours lasted a very short period of time. Had the nasty plastic taste. Then quit working. Called and they told us it was under warranty to send it back...we got a box, boxed it up....have gotten communications a replacement was on the way and no new one....guess that's just as well from reading others problems. Then when we call and call and call, we get the run around. We will chalk this up to lesson learned.....and won't buy from this company again.

Same complaints as everyone else- bad taste, puddling on the floor. When I asked the company to replace it, they said I would have to pay for shipping charges! I will never buy a Haier product again.

I'm not sure whats wrong with this companies dispensers - I've tried both this version and the smaller version (replacement) and they both added a very district plastic/metalic taste to each glass of water. The cold water system doesn't work as well either. Amazon should really look into getting rid of this companies products altogher. |
