Cynthia Vehslage Meyers is a freelance illustrator whose work has appeared in The New York Times, among other publications. She lives in Connecticut.

My single girl days are behind me, but I thoroughly enjoyed every page of Haiku for the Single Girl. These poems are funny, sexy, and sad--often all at once--in just 17 syllables. The charming illustrations make this book even more personal, yet somehow also universal. A great gift for single sisters who need a boost, and for married girlfriends who need a chuckle. Well done!

This is such a cute book for any girl that is--or has ever been--single! The illustrations are great and each sentiment rings heart-breakingly true. Some will make you laugh out loud and others will make you sigh with relief that you're not the only one who's thought that. The book itself is lovely as well, I love the red foil on the cover.

As a girl who has spent the vast majority of her twenties as a single girl in Manhattan, I have to say that this book manages to say so much with so few syllables. The turn of each page is like a hilarious stroll down memory lane.
