A lot of good information on hair loss and restoration. Unfortunately all restoration techniques requires a professional. Only two home treatments were recommended (over the counter), so telling me to go try those already widely-known drugs was nothing new. And telling me to go try this drug but it takes 6 months to 2 years before results may happen is certainly is a leap of faith. None of these drugs are cheap, so if you go that route expect to spent a LOT over a very long periond of time for something that may prove ineffective.

If you want to try the professional route there are several options covered with some good recommendations though. This of course is an expensive route, so it just depends what you're looking for.

After reading this book written by actual Physicians who specialize in this area, I had the information I needed. I have now made an appointment to see them and feel very well informed and my husband is comfortable with the whole process now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great guide for a sensitive subject February 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Both my husband and I have thinning hair, although he is very sensitive talking about it. I took the initiative to buy this book and see what our options were. I was very happy with the information presented. It was easy to understand and multiple options were discussed from over the counter medications to hair transplants to wigs. I got the sense that they tried to cover everything that is out there that isn't a gimmick. The focus wasn't entirely on men's balding, which as a women I appreciated. Now that I know what the options are, the next part is how to get my husband to go see a doctor about it!
