About the Author
Lee Roddy is a former staff writer and researcher for a movie production company. He lives in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California and devotes his time to writing books and public speaking. He is a co-writer of the book which became the TV series, The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams. Born on an Illinois farm and reared on a California ranch, Lee Roddy grew up around hunters and trail hounds. As a boy, he began writing animal stories. He spent lots of time reading about dogs, horses, and other animals. These stories shaped his thinking and values before he went to Hollywood to write professionally. His Christian commitment later turned his writing talents to books like this one. He has written more than 60 books and co-authored another 10 titles. Buck Hudson, a long-time Roddy family friend, is a Christian layman who once hunted bears. He and the author's father, T.L. (Jack) Roddy, shared with the author many memories and details about bears and hounds. Since this story was written, laws have changed. It is now illegal for hunters to do some of the things described in this book. Other books by Lee Roddy are: Ladd Family Adventures; An American Adventure; D.J. Read this book to my kids and they loved it!! Been buying and reading books by this author ever since. Haven't been at all disappointed! Quality you can trust as well as exciting and educational!
