4.0 out of 5 stars Good instructional book, December 11, 2000
This review is from: Hair Secrets: The Science Versus the Myth - How to Have Great Hair Forever (Paperback)
This fully illustrated handbook was a wonderful book to read. My sister mailed it to me and after reading it, I must say, I am pleased. It offers you everything you need to know to have fanatastic hair that looks and feels great. The book explores the lifestyle, dietary, and beauty issues that affect the quality of your hair and it examines in detail the different types of hair--blonde, brown, red, black, curly, straight, thick, thin, and flyaway. It also tells about hair dyes, gels and different shampoos It offers solutions to dandruff, split ends and sun damage. I have long straight and very fine hair. It's hard to curl or do anything with. My hair is a mis between blond and light brown, but thanks to this book, I'm now sporting an awsome new cut and I'm a beautiful brunette.

This book is so basic that I wonder why it even tries to explain uncommom alopecia.I reccomend it for a pre-teen who is becoming interested in thier own hygene, as all information seems to be directed to someone who has never before now cared to even wash thier hair.... There was no new information, and I found it quite boring, but, it might be benificial to a very young girl, Id say under 12, if she is competent at reading.
