I use this tray to make my 82 year old Mom more comfortable when I wash her hair. It's very convenient and easy to store in her small apartment. It also helps to keeps her clothes dry while the hair is washed.

I have used many hair wash trays over the years, and this is by far the worst. First, the neck rest is uncomfortably tight on me and two other women I have had try it. A man would have an even worse time. It should be at least an inch wider. Second, the arm strap is too short and isn't adjustable. It has no buckle so it has to go over the patients head. Upon putting one's forearm through the strap as the instructions say, the back of the tray flips up in the air. The patient has to get in an awkward arm position to hold the tray so it slopes down into the sink, and if the patient lets go, the strap goes around his or her throat. If the patient's arm fatigues and drops but they don't let go, the tray flips up, causing the water to dump on the patient. There are other trays that are more pricey, but they are definitely safer and more comfortable.

Good for the traveling stylist,

Pretty good tool for the traveling stylist however, be warned things can get very messy!!!!!! It took me about 4 very wet and messy washes before i figured out the exact angle i should place the tray on the sink and how close the client should hold the tray to her neck. The tray is not very wide so take extra care when washing very long hair or water will spill out on the sides. When removing the tray be carefull to check that there is no water residue or it will spill all over the client. Lastly, washing the back of the head and nape takes practice, because the tray gets in the way and if not held properly water will spill all over the customer's back and neck. The tray could have been designed better (Wider, scooped neck to allow for washing the back of the hair) but for the price i got exactly what i paid for.
