From School Library Journal
PreS-Gr 2-Hairy's back, this time leading Zachary Quack through garden and woods for a merry game of hide-and-seek, with each posture a picture of bliss. If the sight of Hairy's black fur askew as he plunges into the river does not get a chuckle, prepare at least for unabashed sighs at the end when dog and duck cuddle for a nap. Delicate lines and an amazing range of shades dress up the rhyming text, and amusing onomatopoeia captures the duck's frolic.-Gay Lynn Van Vleck, Henrico County Library, Glen Allen, VA
