Very Disappointing. The case isn't really made of aluminum at all but is actually just covered with a think textured flexible aluminum foil-like cladding which is glued in place. The aluminum cladding appears to be purely cosmetic in purpose but has noticeably buckled in places, separating from the thin inner supporting walls leaving areas vulnerable to ripping from sharp objects.

The interior of the case is lined with a grooved hard foam into which fits several moveable partitions creating, at most, five smaller compartments. Unfortunately, the resulting compartments are much too big for most typical 35mm/digital SLR equipment such as cameras and lenses yet too small to hold something like a typical Bogen tripod.

Overall, the case is rather flimsy especially considering the size of items it is intended to hold, doesn't appear to be of uniform quality due to buckling problems with the aluminum cladding - it really doesn't look anywhere near as nice as the photos - and doesn't seem very useful for storing or transporting typical SLR equipment. I doubt this case would survive for long outside a home or office.

This is the my sixth purchase of Hakuba camera cases and the second of this model (AS-LL). It is a ideal case with moderate expense for a case of this quality. It is not a Pelican, but adequate.
