5.0 out of 5 stars Good Product, February 21, 2006
This review is from: Hakuba KST-02-BK Camera Hand Strap (Black) (Electronics)
I got this grip for my Canon G5 Camera to use because I don't like and seldom us the neck strap it came with. The strap which goes into the camera is a tight fit as it is thicker and softer that the strap my Canon came with. Feels sturdier also. The part of this strap that goes over your wrist is very wide and soft and feels very comfortable.

The build of this thing is sturdy so it feels strong and I don't worry about my camera slipping. I did try the little flimsy "strap" that came with my Digi-Elph, but felt very unsafe to carry my larger camera around with.

Amazon has a good price, but I did purchase this same product at a local Fry's for about 1 dollar less.

Good comfy strap to try out.
cheers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best value for a wrist strap, September 30, 2006

With the recent popularity of small digital cameras, wrist straps are far more common than a decade ago. Most are made to secure a tiny, lightweight camera. For those who wish to use wrist straps for rangefinder cameras or small SLRs, heavier duty wrist straps are harder to find and much more expensive (up to $65 for a leather strap no larger and not much fancier than a leather dog collar). The Hakuba KST-02 wrist strap is much sturdier than most wrist straps and costs a tiny fraction of the upscale leather straps. It is also quite a bit more comfortable with its padded fabric. I hesitated to give it 5 stars as the upscale straps are far more elegant. However, for what it is, a sturdy usable camera wrist strap for under $10, it is as good as they come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great security for hand-holding cameras, July 5, 2006

Update - July 24, 2006: I did find these again at a local Fry's, and B+H Camera now has them in stock again, perhaps they will show up at Amazon as well.
-------------
These are great straps - built well and extremely comfortable. If you don't want to hang a camera around your neck, this is the answer to retain a secure grip on your camera. Completely out of the way, they let you have a relaxed hold on your camera with no worries about dropping it. They are ideal for the smaller cameras that don't have the "grip" on the camera like the SLRs do (I use it with an Olympus C-5060).

The quality of this product was top notch - it's not just a piece of neoprene!

Note that this is not a "grip strap", it doesn't bind the camera to your hand but rather makes it a comfortable way to hold onto it and provide security in case you lose your grip.

It's disappointing to see they are hard to find. Hakuba does make other strap solutions but they are mainly for the SLRs that have a grip on the camera or the usual neck straps.
