I've used many light boxes in the past and most of them were unevenly lit. This light box is very consistent in it's illumination. Also, the small size and battery power are good for portablity and allows me to place it behind a page of negatives without taking them out of my binder. The option of using an AC converter is nice too, if I ever want to stop buying batteries for it. Battery life is good and the batteries (even if I buy the non-brand name ones) last a long time.

The light box itself is exactly what I was looking for. An effective little lightbox that is portable. I can carry it in my purse if need be. Perfect!

The description leaves something to be desired, however. It DOES NOT come with a carrying case. It also DOES NOT include batteries. The company said it would ship in 1 to 2 business days. I recieved mine in 11 days, and I didn't recieve notice of shipment until 8 days after I ordered it. This is fine as I was in no rush, but I would have been very disappointed if i had been relying on the given information.

Let me just state again, that the lightbox itself is great! Just keep in mind these other factors.

Product is small, lightweight and does a fair job of illuminating slides and transparencies. I use the optional DC adapter. The light is not very evenly distributed throughout the screen and there is some flair around the image so it's best to use some kind of homemade device to block out light around the slide. Overall, I'm satisfied.
