Pretty good racket!,

This review is from: Halex 10mm Aluminum Badminton Racket (Sports)
I had not heard of this brand before, but I was willing to give it a try. Surprise! This racket is actually quite good (stiff and light), despite its low price. There is one thing quite peculiar. I bought this one which has a stated size of 10mm and another Halex racket of size 8.5mm. Comparing the two, the grip dimensions are EXACTLY the same! The 8.5mm model is $3 cheaper, but I'd reccommend this 10mm model, because it is an one-piece construction, rather than the 8.5mm model's multi-piece construction.
January 12, 2010 Update: I am ordering two additional Halex badminton rackets because they are great for the money! You can't buy a quality racket for $11 at your local sporting goods shop. I also have a Yonex Muscle Power 7 which is about four times the price of the Halex, but I don't think it is four times better. Contrary to conventional logic, tighter string tension does NOT offer more power, it actually provides more control. If you want more power, the string tension should be lower (in the 16-20 pound range instead of 21-24 pound range). I wrap my Halex rackets with Yonex synthetic grip wrap called Super Grap (about four dollars for three grip tapes, available on Amazon) and it will make the racket even better.

It's okay for the price. Not that great though.
I am not an expert. However, I play intensively. I don't like the string that this racket has. Also, after using it for a month or so, I have found cracks at the joint between round part and holder. I had bought two rackets. One racket has string broken already in less than 2 months. anyway, it's pretty light one, but not good for heavy use.

GARBAGE,
This review is from: Halex 10mm Aluminum Badminton Racket (Sports)
This racket fell apart within five minutes! The grip tape unravelled and the cone shaped piece that goes from grip to neck came loose, sliding up and down.. but the worst part is that the strings are so weak that the shuttlecock gets stuck between them instead of bouncing off. This happened to not just one but FOUR of these before we had a chance to even warm up! PASS ON THIS BRAND!

I purchased 2 of these about 3 months ago and play about once every week or two. To start, the grip is pretty terrible. It's slippery and has no durability. The string was the second problem. I broke both of them within two weeks of each other on overhead smashes. I would recommend buying a racquet that is priced slightly higher because you will have to replace this one eventually anyways. You are better off spending a little bit more in the first place.

Strings broke in less than a month!,
This review is from: Halex 10mm Aluminum Badminton Racket (Sports)
I'm on the badminton team in my high school, and I go to practice for about 2-3 hours 6 times in a week. It was doing pretty good for me at first, (since I'm a beginner) but then one of the players in varsity needed to borrow my racket, since he forgot his at home, and after using my racket for only about 5 minutes, the strings already "popped"! I guess this racket can be good for beginners, but when it comes to hardcore, experienced, intensive players, the strings on the racket will surely break probably in a week or two!

This is typical of most badminton rackets available, just OK for backyard use but don't expect it to last a long time.

I bought these for our school and they were okay but not great. The kids banged them up pretty good. The strings broke and heads were bent within a month. But for the price, we got our money's worth. I was looking for something a little tougher that would last a bit longer than 1 month.

Broken within 2 weeks. DON'T BUY!,

I purchased 3 for our club for temporary use given that I can get it shipped fast via Prime. They are light and work quite well at first. However, all three of them have strings broken within two weeks. I wasn't hoping for a very durable product for this price, but two weeks is still much too short than what I was expecting. These are the most vulnerable badminton rackets I've ever seen. Very poor quality. Plus, they are shorter than normal rackets (the standard length 664 mm ones).
I've bought rackets in similar price range before. They don't play well, but at least they last a lot longer than these.

Broke on the first game,

After reading the previous reviews I brought this racket and started playing a casual game with my wife outside my house. Within the first few shots the string became loose and the cock went right through. I don't know what's was the tensile strength it was weaved at but felt like 10.
It's for kids not for adults. Waste of money

These rackets are very good. My wife and I have been using them almost every day for a week now. They are holding up very well and are comfortable. Unless you want to spend much much more on professional rackets, these are a great alternative.
