Good but not overly so, July 26, 2005
The first and I'm guessing only CD from Michael Clarke (he's since formed The Deciphers), is full of musical influences. I can list many, David Gray, Counting Crows, Travis, Crowded House, The Travelling Wilburys, etc.
Highlights include the brilliant "Spinning" and "Secret Life", both two of the CD's livlier numbers.
Things aren't quite as catchy when the temp slows down. "Everybody Will Have Their Day" sounds too much like the theme song from any WB/UPN teen series.
I'm a big fan of "Spinning", "Secret Life", and "Heavy Soul", well worth the used price of the CD. Just be prepared to hit the skip button on some of the other stuff.

Happy That I Saw "Dear Frankie.", February 28, 2008
This review is from: Half Chapter (Audio CD)
I first heard Clarkesville when I saw the movie "Dear Frankie." Loved their sound and lyrics so much, that I looked them up on the web, and then bought Half Chapter. Wow! This is my second purchase and it's for a friend.
I believe that Clarkesville is no more but the boys have moved on with
their new name - Decipher. Wish them continued success, as they deserve it.
