5.0 out of 5 stars More than Half-Full, August 28, 2005

This review is from: Half Empty, Half Full - Philippine Tagalog Music CD (Audio CD)
Rising stars from the South (Cebu, Philippines), CUESHÉ has produced an album worth yer bucks. The twelve tracks definitely drew me into their music and made me a fan.

"Stay" and "Sorry" effortlessly awed me. If you are familiar with last-song-syndrome, these songs will definitely put you in that state. You hear them even in your deep sleep.

Music-wise, the chords and riffs were skillfully crafted with the vocals of Jay Justiniani and Ruben Caballero. The lyrics are honest and heartfelt.

Jhunjie Dosdos (keyboard) and Jovan Mabini (lead guitar) give life to each song. They make the tracks distinct from each other. They make marks which are Cueshe's.

"Stay" (by Mike Manaloto, the drummer) and "Sorry" (by Fritz Labrado, the bassist) build different hearts in listeners into saying goodbye through their lyrics.

"Ulan" which is the only Tagalog cut in the record captures the hearts of rock-fanatics into expressing the desperations of loving someone.

"Hump Ahead" (a personal favorite. It talks about fate.) and "24 Hours" bring that sudden lift of good feeling when you hear them. The guitars are orchestrated by the band in perfection. *Two thumbs up*

You don't need to close your eyes for "Can't Let Go" and "Sky" to fill you.

"Here for You", "When I'm With You" and "Never Leave You" have a nostalgic feel from the '90s when bands finally landed and opened permanently the new sound for rock music here in the Philippines.

"Love Me Now and Hate Me Soon" is filled with rock flavors at full force.

And I definitely love the acoustic version of Stay.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cueshe? Or Should I Say Cliche'...., October 16, 2005
This review is from: Half Empty, Half Full - Philippine Tagalog Music CD (Audio CD)
This album is so disappointing. If you really wanted to listen to good music you should look for albums from bands like Sugarfree, Bamboo, The Dawn, Kitchie Nadal, Barbie Almalbis (Barbie's Cradle/HYP), Imago, The Radioactive Sago Project, Cynthia Alexander and Wolfgang.

The band is a trying hard Creed/ The Calling sounding wannabe. yes, they have an advantage in posting or should I say selling the album Thru Amazon.com. But we are talking about quality... Cueshe doesnt have it. Two vocalists who doesnt have have any talent.

A disgrace to the Filipino Rock community.

Forget about this album buy The Dawn's "Harapin" instead.
