Unique world and interesting romance..., July 14, 2008
This review is from: Half-Light (Tsr Books) (Paperback)
"A terminal disease compels Ariann Centuri to marry the Viceroy of the Galactic Consortium, the only one who can obtain treatment for her, but she is unprepared for the political intrigues on her new husband's planet."
So that's the blurb about it and this story is wonderful. I bought it while in high school from half price books (it was a great day since I also found The Apprentice by Deborah Talmadge-Bickmore and one of Roby James' book too) and read it many times. It's been awhile and I should probably look for it again through my boxes of books (in my parents attic while I look for a real job after finishing grad school). The story flows quickly and I remember the prose being readable and lyrical. The romance between Ariana and the Commander is compelling and kinda makes you want to sigh after you see how they come to love one another. I would suggest this to anyone who likes a little romance with their science fiction (no it doesn't read like a romance novel, just has some romance mixed in.)

I bought a copy of this book at my local Dollar Tree store. It looked interesting enough and what the heck it was only a dollar, so I bought it. I really like the main character's personality- a woman who won't sit back and be walked on. I thought that Winn Forest was a great character, and I also liked the alien commander, for all his faults. I'd reccomend this book to anyone.
