Halftrack, half there,

This is the first of seven Hunnicutt books that I have purchased that I was not completely satisfied with. The usual detail, excellent photos and history of the development of the subject that we have come to expect from Hunnicutt are there, but there are two things that missed the mark:In all of his other works, other vehicles have been included to trace the development, show parallel trends, experimental prototypes. There is virtually none of that here. This is also a relatively short work for Hunnicutt. Coupled with its very narrow scope, I was left wanting to read more. Still, if you are a half track nut, this would be THE book to own on the subject.

This is a Hunnicutt book with good text, excellent and numerous illustrations and decent paper and printing. This is the most thorough and largest book on American Half-tracks that I have vseen to date.
