Oho Oho Oho Yeah!, October 22, 2008
Wow, wow, wow! Watching this dvd just puzzles me why Rob went back to Priest, I guess more or less for the paycheck...but oh well, this release is just pure magic. First off the Resurrection cd is included in this set, freshly remastered and newly expanded with 2 tracks from the Resurrection sessions (Sad Wings and Hells Last Survivor), both of them previously appeared on the Japan release and later as (uh-hum) live versions on Insurrection. They make a nice addition finally on the US side. There are 2 brand spanking new tracks Fetish and God Bringer of Death. While they are powerful and fast, and have that trademark Halford scream, they appear out of place on the cd, because again, they are newly recorded, so the mix and sound is different from the rest of the tracks. No bother though, they don't take away any of the majestic from Resurrection.
Now the DVD is a real treat. Halford and his band just slay for 14 songs, and 60 minutes, and you get it all. Halford classics, Fight classics, Priest gems (Jawbreaker and Stained Class) and classic (Breaking the what?...Let's break that Law! and Electric Eye). The DVD is incredible and while it was heavily bootlegged for years, this is the official, cleaned up (video and sound) version, worth every penny.
God Bless you Rob, you have done a superb job with releasing the Fight Collection (yes Into the Pit is a treasure chest!), and now the Halford years...can't wait next year for the Crucible collection. Thanks

Fantastic Release of Halford's Return to Metal!!!, November 23, 2008
Halford Live at Rock in Rio III not only includes a great 14 song live set and documentary dvd, it re-releases Halford's " Resurrection" with the two bonus tracks God Bringer of Death and Fetish, both good additions to this CD. This album was in my opinion the Return of Rob Halford back to where he should be, in front of a band that has the arena sound and blazing guitar solos to match his operatic voice. Don't get me wrong, Fight had some really fantastic work, I own them all, but his voice never catered to the "nu-metal" sound as much. There are several Fight songs that he just doesn't blend with as much as his Halford and Priest Material does. I saw him live on this tour, and his energy was back as well. Pick this DVD/CD up to see a small glimpse of that energy.
FYI: For a short while Halford made available the Live at Rock in Rio Radio Promo CD with God Bringer Of Death, Fetish, The one you love to hate, Resurrection live, made in hell live, stained class live, jawbreaker live. If you have a chance to pick this up, worth it is worth it.
