5.0 out of 5 stars Good Introduction...Not a Weasel
nice introduction anna ternheim's work. she's been around making records since 2004 but this is her first release in US. sort of a compilation. saw her at the bowery ballroom with lykke li and el perro del mar in new york. a great and long overdue perfomance in the US.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant enough. Bit of a weasel.
A nice listen. Ms Terneim has a charming voice, sings in English with a slight Swedish accent. Nothing shocking in the arrangements - mostly coffeehouse style. She does a dirge-like cover of a Fleetwood Mac song, but does not give writing credit! Hmm, has she met Page & Plant or Dylan??

nice introduction anna ternheim's work. she's been around making records since 2004 but this is her first release in US. sort of a compilation. saw her at the bowery ballroom with lykke li and el perro del mar in new york. a great and long overdue perfomance in the US.

it's tough to describe where anna fits stylistically. sparse and dark, but also with great implied hope and optimism. if like early beth orton, nick cave, emilianna torrini or suzanne vega you will probably find anna's musi to your liking.

contrary to the gentleman who is trying to sully her name on this page, credit is given to fleetwood mac, and in particular - christine mcvie - on the international version of the album - and she explains her version of their song also live in concert.

blaming her for a typo by her record company calling her a weasel?

classy.

folks - download the tune "you mean nothing to me anymore" - absolutely stunning...and check out her performing it on youtube

I picked this up on a whim while on vacation last year and I was immediately intrigued. She has a sweet, unassuming voice, which reminds me of a few people, BUT she's truly her own person! The lyrics are at times more simplistic, but nothing complex is needed here. I am touched by many of these lovely songs, which range from pop, more folksy, softer alternative...how do I describe them?! They flow so well, and I think everyone can find something they can relate to in her music. I wish she would be more recognized here in American for she certainly deserves it! I recommend this album!!

Anna Ternheim has a pleasant voice, well-suited to lounge and folk music. She reminds me a lot of Suzanne Vega in her vocal tone, and her songs are generally slow-paced folk tunes. While the songs don't really stand out melodically, the album has a generally likable vibe, as Anna's voice draws you in and carries you along on her moody contemplative journey. I like her cover of Fleetwood Mac's Little Lies, slowed down and given a bit of harmonica blues to re-interpret that tune in a fresh way. Anna is a solid talent and fans of female folk, jazz, and lounge singers may enjoy this album.
