nice introduction anna ternheim's work. she's been around making records since 2004 but this is her first release in US. sort of a compilation. saw her at the bowery ballroom with lykke li and el perro del mar in new york. a great and long overdue perfomance in the US.

it's tough to describe where anna fits stylistically. sparse and dark, but also with great implied hope and optimism. if like early beth orton, nick cave, emilianna torrini or suzanne vega you will probably find anna's musi to your liking.

contrary to the gentleman who is trying to sully her name on this page, credit is given to fleetwood mac, and in particular - christine mcvie - on the international version of the album - and she explains her version of their song also live in concert.

blaming her for a typo by her record company calling her a weasel?

classy.

folks - download the tune "you mean nothing to me anymore" - absolutely stunning...and check out her performing it on youtube

I picked this up on a whim while on vacation last year and I was immediately intrigued. She has a sweet, unassuming voice, which reminds me of a few people, BUT she's truly her own person! The lyrics are at times more simplistic, but nothing complex is needed here. I am touched by many of these lovely songs, which range from pop, more folksy, softer alternative...how do I describe them?! They flow so well, and I think everyone can find something they can relate to in her music. I wish she would be more recognized here in American for she certainly deserves it! I recommend this album!!

I purchased several of Anna Ternheim's CDs after hearing her haunting song which closes the original, Swedish series "Wallander". What a voice - of all the ones I bought, this is the best. If you're looking for mindless, loud, dance-club tunes, this is not the one for you. A very haunting album -excellent!

Great album by melodic, soulful Anna Ternheim. Every song is like deep blue dream you are lulled into by Ternheim's lightly smoky, hypnotic singing. Her rendition of Fleetwood Mac's 'Tell Me Lies' was my first introduction to this singer, and is included in this album with equally brilliant original songs like 'Girl Laying Down' and the title track 'Halfway to Fivepoints.' The only potential negative (and I do mean -potential negative- it may be a positive depending on what the listener is looking for) of this album is that it is most definitely an album that wallows in the serene, possibly melancholy- there are precious few changes in the mood of the album.

I gave this as a gift to my daughter since she and I are both big fans of the Swedish Wallendar. She loves it and has even shared listening to it with other friends who are also fans of the show.

I was expecting more of the type of singing as heard on the Kurt Wallender series, but this is not it. Still enjoyable listening.
