A little expensive but it does what it's supposed to do, which again, is melts ice.

I ordered this due to its convenience however I was rather dissapointed when I saw inside the package. It was mostly in powder form, the rock salts were very few. It works fairly ok for the first time but since most of the salt is in powder form, it is consumed very easily so you need to apply more and frequently. I wouldn't recommend buying this product.

While effective at melting snow and preventing icy patches from forming, the bag I received contained a significant amount of powder which made using my salt spreader challenging. The spreader is designed to spray chunks of salt, not powder. This bag, at thirty dollars, is fairly pricey and I will not be buying another bag.

This is definately a bad product. What was suppose to be rock salt was full of jagged little pieces of black lava rock mixed in. Now the salt melted and my front steps and walk are covered with these little rocks. A big mess for me to sweep up. I am extremely disappointed with this product/I will try to get a refund...

Great product--works quickly and efficiently. We live in Denver and have had several large snowstorms in 2011, so it was excellent to use on the sidewalks and driveway. Of course, we shoveled the sidewalks first, but there are always ice spots left where the sun doesn't shine, and this product completely solved that problem.

I ordered this through amazon prime (free 2-day shipping on a 25 pound item!) and the salt was in good shape, not overly powdered as another reviewer stated. It may have something to do with the shipping process. It works great, big surprise as it is pure NaCl. This is a huge amount of salt so be aware of that. I still haven't finished the bag off and I live in the DC area where we have had an enormous blizzard this year. It would be nice if there were a scoop; I had to use a plastic cup as the bag is definitely too unwieldy to spread by shaking, but I am still very satisfied.

Effective and works quickly on ice and snow. Love ordering this monthly from amazon vs. going to the store and lugging my fresh supply

This is exactly as described, a whole big bag of rock salt! I had bought it for another purpose earlier in the winter, but I was very glad to have it when Winter Storm Pax came barreling through. Even when the precipitation was coming down it kept the salted areas nice and slushy, something I could easily remove with a shovel or broom in order to keep my steep steps out of the house clear of ice. When the precipitation finally quit it did an excellent job of melting the ice. It was especially handy to have gotten it online since my area rarely gets snow or ice at all and I'm sure if I'd visited a hardware store they would have been out.
