Do you hear it? Listen! Oh yes! It is the rumble of the Hall of Fame Super Bowl Game about to start and you need some ultimate Game Day food and fast!

My name is Kristie and at our house - we watch football and a lot of it. Some of my best memories are the yelling, the nail-biting and the roar of the family when the touchdowns are made (for the right team that is).

I have been a cheerleader since I was old enough to hold a set of pom poms in my hands in elementary school. Back then, it was rah-rah-sis-boom-bah and now it is more hip-hop dance to the hip moves. No matter what, I was determined to be a part of cheerleading up into my 30s when I trained and tried out for the Jacksonville Jaguar Cheerleading Squad in Jacksonville, Florida. So I made a decision to try-out. That day at lunch I had been invited by the Jacksonville Roar Cheerleading Coordinator to join her for lunch as she casually introduced me to the then owner of the Jaguars and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Weaver. Sitting that day in the cafeteria alongside where the NFL players and the Coaches eat their lunch, was one of many thrilling experiences I had peeking inside of professional football.

Although I did not make the Jacksonville Roar cheerleading squad since my dance skills needed about two more years worth of work (or more), and my body as a 30 year old (with two children) found it difficult to compete with the 20 year olds, I learned some valuable lessons during that training part of my life. If you want it badly enough, go after it. If you hit the moon, instead of the stars you will never regret trying. Never let anyone say you are too old to try something new.

Fast forward years later, now as a divorced Single Mom, I dated a guy who was wearing a Super Bowl ring from many years past. He was proud of it and took it off his finger and handed it to me. As I twirled it around and around looking at the Super Bowl insignia and picturing the moment when he was handed that honor, I excitedly asked him what it was really like when they handed it to him......

Now ....back to the food - get your appetizers ready and let's get ready for some FOOTBALL!!!

This book was a gift, and just in time. Not for the Super Bowl (not a football fan) but for a housewarming party. I'm a pretty good cook, so I can taste recipes sometimes just by reading them. This collection has some real keepers. The Cowboy Caviar and the Sombrero Dip are two that I'm putting to the test this weekend. Seems like there's something here for everyone, including vegetarians. With this kind of food you need clear, simple directions and food combinations that surprise and delight--and that's what you get here. A winner.

We don't have satellite TV at home and, being in the UK, my menfolk like football (soccer) and rugby. Nonetheless, when I was perusing the cookbook section and read out the title of this one, I was exhorted to buy it!

They have chosen several man snacks for me to make over the weekend.

Football is not my scene so I will be happy going off with my girl-friends, leaving the men happily chomping away.

There are a couple of items I can't get in the UK, but I think it will be very easy to put in substitutes.

## Most importantly, the recipes all appear quick and easy to make and look pretty tasty, so five stars from me.##

Real Guy Food! January 25, 2012

Ok, so that's a bit sexist, but only as I think that the fairer sex would probably prefer more delicate, low carb tasteless rabbit food.

Oops, did it again...

This book is cover-to-cover deliciousness - bacon lovers will be in their element (or as happy as pig in....). Make no mistake - this is NOT a recipe book for vegetarians or those on a diet, but is certainly is if you want easy to make, damn tasty accompaniments to any big game, or anytime you want a beer (or five). All of these amazing snacks will take less time to prepare than ordering a tasteless takeaway pizza, and for a lower price too.

More About the Author

Hi, My name is Kristie Chiles. I remember going to family reunions and not caring much about lunch, but I was gazing and drooling over the 7-layer cakes and chocolate/vanilla frosted cupcakes with chocolate chips on top! I'm a Southern Girl and I come from a long line of famous bakers from scratch. When I was a young Mother and busy beyond imagination, I would grab the quickest, easiest, but yummiest cakes, cupcakes, muffins and chocolate dessert recipes possible! I would bake them up, throw them in my Tupperware containers and march happily off to school to deposit them to the school party or the office get-together, or the family get-together! Voila! Instant success and it didn't take me long at all! Smiling! Kristie
