Book Description

Trick out the treats for your next gathering of ghouls with these 20 Halloween food projects.

These desserts, snacks, and drinks will appeal to people who want something cute and seasonal. And it will also appeal to the folks who respect the culinary adventurousness of Hannibal Lecter and the Donner party, but aren’t willing to fully commit to the requisite lifestyle change to jump in whole hog (or long pig in this case.)

Read on to find the perfect treat for your Halloween gathering.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ghoulish delights September 22, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase
Perhaps I am showing my age, but the Halloween I remember was filled with less ghoulish delights and a lot happier. I do remember carving pumpkins, dunking for apples, eating candied apples, and in general having good clean fun. I do not remember seeing (or eating) ghoulish brains or other creepy foods.

If you are into eating food that looks like blood stains on slides, brains or other ghoulish delights you will love this cookbook. It was a turn-off for me.

You will find a few cute, less scary recipes, such as Candy Corn, Monster Cookies or Mummy Dogs in the Halloween Food (Instructables Halloween) cookbook.

There are step-by-step photos and an active table of contents making navigation easy.

Recommend with caveats given.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for young children September 23, 2012

I have 2 young girls, and I like to make a Halloween treat with them every year. Only one recipe was easy and not gross. This book is better suited for teens or adults. It would be good for teenage boys who like all things gory.
