5.0 out of 5 stars Halloween Hits
This is a wonderful CD for the family. My young children love it and we spent lots of time dancing to it. We even listened to it at my child's kindergarten Halloween party. It was a big hit. Unlike many of the Halloween CDs today this one is not frightening. It is fun and upbeat. I highly recommend it.

This is a totally goofy collection, something it intends to be and achieves with great and endearing success. Throw this on the player at some high brow music evening and all pretence will disolve amid the mirth and seminal memories. Monster Mash, Killer Tomatoes, Addams Family Theme (all 47 seconds of it), Ghost Busters, Purple People Eater, it's all there. Great...

this cd has the cleanest, clearest cut of jumpin" gean simmons hit, haunted house. it's unfortunate that so few people seem to remember this hit. this cd is worth it for only that song. the original Ghost Busters tune is on this cd and is also the clearest I've ever heard. this cd is one you should get !

You can't go wrong with this if you are looking for some fun music for Halloween. Whether you're planning a party or just want to listen to this while distributing candy, this is probably the best Halloween music collection around. Now if only RHINO would come out with a Part 2. Great fun here for everyone.

A CD of fun, & silly Halloween music that you can enjoy because it's the recordings of the original singers, not the original singers brother's cousin's hairdresser's aunt. If you like Dr Demento type music, then you'll love this! My kids enjoy it as well. The 2 best songs are of course, Monster Mash and Martian Hop. Give it a try!

5.0 out of 5 stars A CD every Hallowmaniac should have., October 10, 1998

This is a wonderful CD! It's packed with such greats as the Monster Mash, Purple People Eater, and some lesser-knowns like the Martian Hop! Much better than those other "Halloween Hit" CDs. Ultimately, add this one to your collection now!

What a great find! It took years of searching to locate the original Gene Simmons version of "Haunted House". I would have paid this great price for this one song alone! My four children have a wonderful time listening to these "oldies-but definitely goodies". Enjoy!

I originally discovered this album several years ago while working on the children's radio program I used to dj and produce. I really enjoyed listening to the music, but had to leave the cds behind when I left the show after moving out of the city. Now that I currently am back on the air with an internet radio show, I've been looking around for some good quality Halloween music to play on my new show. There really isn't much out there. A lot of the Halloween cds you buy are compliations of songs rearranged by different artists or studio groups. That's not the case with HALLOWEEN HITS. There are only 10 songs on the album, but they are all sung by the original artists. Some of them are Halloween favorites, such as "Monster Mash" and "Ghostbusters" while others are related to frightening/scary/monster themes and shows, such as the "Addam's Family Theme" and "The Twilight Zone Theme". It would be nice if this cd had a few more tunes on it, but for less than $10, it's basically a bargain. A good cd to play at Halloween.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Halloween Songs, October 6, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Halloween Hits (Audio CD)
This is a fantastic collection of goofy "scary" songs performed by the original artists that made them hits years ago. Almost all of the songs are great fun for people of any age to dance to or sing along. The one exception is the instrumental "Twilight Zone" theme. I've always found the "Twilight Zone" music almost unsettling and of course it is impossible to dance to and there are no lyrics. I wish the album producers had put "Twilight" at either the beginning or the end so it would be easy to skip over instead of right in the middle of all the fun songs but that's a minor quibble. All in all this is a must have CD for all Halloween lovers.

This is a great and smart collection. Just look at the selection of songs you get, Monster Mash, Ghostbusters, Purple People Eater, The Addams family theme, Twilight Zone and my new favorite The Martian Hop. I never heard the Martian Hop before even though it's from the early 1960s, pretty catchy song. It's a great cd and unlike other compilations that have movie "themes" this one has the actual real legit songs. That's the real Monster Mash song by Bobby Picket, that's the real beginning to the Addams Family show and that's the real Ray Parker Jr. singing Ghostbusters. It would be nice if they had more songs but you'll still be glad you bought this cd when you have company over for a party come October or Halloween Night.

5.0 out of 5 stars An AWESOME Novelty CD!, January 23, 2002

While it's Halloween-oriented, some of the tunes here are great for all-year play. I specifically bought this for the Martian Hop, but other faves are there, too. I am especially happy to see that they used the ORIGINAL artists on these tunes. Probably the BEST Halloween CD I've ever bought!
