If you really like the old Halloween post cards, that reached their zenith during late Victorian and in Edwardian times, but you find that they are next to impossible to find and the few you do see are priced higher than gold, then this is the book for you. Needless to say, these cards are not old, but they are excellent copies of those really neat Halloween cards of yesteryear. Highly recommended .

These are nice and large and have a lot of beautiful art on them, and I love the detail on the back of the postcards, but I've got to say they are pretty flimsy for postcards. You would normally expect a postcard to be on card stock, but these are more like a thick paper. I like them, but I am a little nervous about how well they will hold up when I sent them through the mail. I would've given them 5 stars if the paper they were printed on was a thicker stock.

I am a subscriber to postcrossing.com. I send post cards all over the world. With Halloween approaching I thought these would be great. The cards are really cute. Great colors great images, great paper quality But good luck getting them out of the booklet they are in. If you want to just keep these in the book as a collection or decoration they would probably be perfect for you. However if you have intentions of actually sending them, expect that the majority will have torn edges across the top. I threw away 3 or 4 before I decided to completely take the booklet apart, staples and all, to get the rest out and even then somewhere still tore.

I'm a throw back when it comes to communicating with friends and family. I'm not a cell phone twitting person of this generation. I love writing letters and sending postcards. I've already have these beautiful postcards ready to send to wish family and friends a Happy Halloween. I'll be buying these again for next year!

I recently purchased a copy of this 'book'. Actually, it is 30 postcards printed on a card stock and bound together in a book format. I love these cards. I immediately tore them all out and sorted through them deciding to whom I would be mailing them. Several are going out right away and the rest will go as the mood strikes me, I'm not hung up on them having to go out before the stated holiday. The book is from Darling & Company, also known as the Laughing Elephant. They have additional postcard books for a number of holidays.

i had been doing some research on halloween traditions and came across the practice of sending halloween postcards. i was very pleased to find this set!

while these are beautiful reproductions of vintage halloween postcards, there is one major flaw in this book: the binding. instead of being attached like a pad of paper where the pieces are torn from a glue-based binding, these are perforated...and badly. the first postcard came out okay, but each one thereafter tore. i finally had to start removing them with a box cutter, then trimming them with a paper cutter. not the ideal situation.

there are better sets available here on amazon. i could not recommend this set to anyone intending to remove and send these postcards.

I send hundreds of postcards every month and love postcard books for the value and variety. These postcards are quite delightful and will be well received. My only qualm is that they are very difficult to remove from the book without tearing the edge. Chronicle Books and Pomegranate design their postcard books for a much easier release and I wish Darling would reconsider their format to make for a cleaner edge.

I was happy with the book, but I wish there hadn't been so many postcards that were mostly writing with not much illustration. Children don't like those very much.
