Amazing, Simply Amazing...,

For someone who follows the soundtracks of various movies from time to time, I find that this one accompanying the newly-released HalloweeN: Resurrection film is nothing short of a great listen, for new and old alike. However, I feel those who are truly faithful to the film series (and for someone like I who has been dressing up as Michael Myers come every halloween for the last 8 years), will enjoy this one a tad bit more. The only thing I miss is the original stalking music that would follow as Michael would begin to hunt down and get his victims, another memorable signature musical track that I feel should've been redone for this soundtrack. Nonetheless, I can deal without it for the time being, as the rest fills up the void, plenty of 'stingers' to jolt you out of your seat, and possibly out of your headphones, swiftly changing modulations, some of which speeding fluently towards a climax of restated theme. I'm very impressed by Mr. Danny Lux on this one...if I might be able to borrow a second reviewer's words on this CD-Bravo! Bravo!

Stunning.,

While I've always enjoyed the wonderfully dark music of the Halloween series, I sincerely missed the series' long-time composer, Alan Howarth, when H20 came around. Make no mistake, John Ottman did a wonderful job with the Halloween: H20 soundtrack, but...it just wasn't what the music that "Halloween" was all about. When Danny Lux was reported to helm the soundtrack and once again, another entry was to be Howarth-less, my heart sunk. I expected another border-line cheesy, overly-orchestrated soundtrack, ala H20. But my hopes were immediatly lifted upon hearing the ever-famous tune when the Dimensions logo appeared on the movie theatre screen. And as the movie continued, it only got better. Lux is masterful in that he changes the bass of the main theme somewhat, whilst still keeping the theme relatively close to Carpenter's original piece. However, this soundtrack is EASILLY the darkest-sounding of the entire series, which is fitting, as Halloween: Ressurection was a mean, relentless film. All in all, this is probably my favorite of the Halloween soundtracks, with Halloween 4 and 6 trailing short behind. Bravo, Danny Lux! Bravo!

This CD packs a mix of everything from the series of Halloween's scores. Some bright electronics, some contemporary orchestration that fit the film well, and John Carpenter's original theme (an outstanding version here, I might add. Equalled only by the original, and Alan Howarth's version on H4). While not as electronic as some may have preferred and expected from Howarth's more than servicable scores, Lux's orchestration matches this film far better than the mess of a score that Halloween H2O was (no slight to John Ottman, his original score for that was hacked up, and hardly used - order his "Portrait of Terror" to hear what he intended). I do have some complaints of this score though. First, so much of the music is non-thematic. With exception to the original theme, what Carpenter (and to an extent, Howarth) did was create individual, minimalistic, but effective scores. That's been replaced by a more contemporary, "safe" Hollywood type score. While that fits on film, I can't completely say it satisfies the Halloween series. In addition to that, I have over 200 film scores, I can't think of any of them that stretch the decible range so far. This soundtrack goes from barely audible whisper quiet, to blast out the windows on your entire block loud. Dramatic all right! But how many of us have sound systems that can capture and express this in a listenable manner? Mis-adjusting the volume, or listening on headphones could make the listener shell shocked if not careful. Complaints aside, taken that into consideration, this score does justice to the series. Lux take on the main theme is terrific. More than anyone expected. And overall the score fit the film quite well.

This is another of those not-so- rare cases where the score for a film is better than the actual movie itself. This may well be, along with "Halloween 4", the very best of the "Halloween" sequel scores. Newcomer to film work Danny Lux succeeds, and does so admirably; while there is much excellent music to be found here ('The Tunnel', 'The Mirror', 'Michael Is In The Shadows', 'The End Is Near', 'The Morgue', 'Michael Begins Terror' and 'Michael Chases Sara' are particular standouts), the score is best known for the composer's brilliant reworking of John Carpenter's classic 'Halloween Theme'. This is an outstanding work, and a great purchase for fans of horror scores. While "Halloween: Resurrection" doesn't match the recent score to "Jason X", it's still an exciting, vital cd.

I have been a fan of the Halloween series for a long time. I've got the soundtrack on the first Halloween made. It is the 20th Anniversary CD. Halloween Resurrection soundtrack makes it my second. I enjoy the new digital music that Mr. Danny has provided on the CD. But I can't help but to agree with a previous person who posted the message about the stalking music from Halloween when Michael, age 6, killed his sister. But this soundtrack would really make a good CD to play, especially around the holiday. I just might do that, pop my CD player in the window, open it and let the music glare. Mr. Danny's masterpiece here will remain in my collection.Thank you Mr. Danny Lux for this masterpiece. Now I can't wait until the movie comes out to video/dvd. I've seen it in theaters, but need it added to my collection of Halloween movies; it would make a real good fright night party on Halloween or any night of the year. Also I want to say this was my first Internet purchase and I want to thank Amazon.com for the quick shipment. I was very skeptical about submitting credit card information over the Internet. But thank goodness they give you the option to call in to complete the order. A Halloween Fan,

I just bought this CD today and I have to say that I am a big fan of the Halloween movies. This is a great CD to go with the movie. It will give you the creeps when you listen to it. Danny Lux does a great job with the Halloween Theme, it sounds almost like the origial except it has strings, a female voice and a great bass part to it. Some songs remind me of John Williams music. This is the best Halloween soundtrack yet.

I have to say this Soundtrack is one of the best in my book. the HalloweeN theme That Danny Lux created was just a classic. this score really gives you what you want. it's vary creepy and when I saw this movie in theatres I heard that theme Start I sat their and had such a big smile on my face. I had one word to say? When can I get the Soundtrack? I loved the Main HalloweeN title in this film. although like H20 the film does leave behind the old classic stalk themes but hey the new ones are really good too. I would recommend this Soundtrack for all HalloweeN fans & Horror movie lovers out their.!!!!

I love this soundtrack! I looked all over the place for it. Never before for any of the Halloween movies, except the first, have I gotten so pumped up and excited when the music first started playing. It's great... absolutely fabulous. I hope to God that they bring back Danny Lux for Halloween 9. My favorite track is also Chase Laurie. The part of Laurie's demise is awesome! Great fun! The movie was absolutely awesome... great ways to kill people. I hear this music in my nightmares.
