An entertaining read. All of the stories are well written, and have tense moments of varying intensity. Some standout stories include:

The Scarecrow's Garden: A bright spot in the life of an angry and disappointed child turns into a trap drawing him closer to a terrible fate.

All Hallow's Eve: A pair of trick-or-treaters find out what's the worst that can happen when you go out of your way to find the prized treat.

The Big Surprise: A slow burn trek into an empty mansion builds to an ending I'm still thinking about.

Sugar-Fueled Nightmare: A fast-paced odyssey through your best dreams taken to the extreme, and turned deadly.

There's a story here for anyone. If you like happy endings, sad endings, mysterious endings, period pieces, comedy, even romance, they're all within this book.

Just wanted to say I thought having some kids write stories and getting them published is a GREAT idea.....kids have great imaginations and can be very creative.
My 11 yr old daughter wrote
'The Big Suprise" all by herself! How cool to be 11 and an author.
Tony did a GREAT job publishing and editing too on all his books.
A+ on his books

These stories are pretty tame stuff. More a kids' book than for adults. If the stories were all written by kids then they did pretty well for their age, but there are no budding C. A. Smith's here.
