This review is from: Halo 3: ODST Collector Pack (Video Game)
I don't even know where to begin. First of all, this IS a Halo game, so if you're a fan of any other Halo games, you'll need to check this out. I've been a fan of Halo since the creation of the series, and, to me, each game has been an improvement on the last (with a few exceptions of small things I liked in Halo 2 that didn't carry over to Halo 3). Unlike the previous games, ODST is not very multi-player oriented, with the exception of Firefight (a mode where up to four players fight against endless waves of covenant; think Nazi Zombies) and co-op campaign. Still, it offers a new sense of exploration that hasn't been seen yet in the Halo series, especially in the Mombasa Streets level. Also, I should note that all of the campaign levels, except the first few and last few, can be played in any order. The closest thing I can describe it as is a cross between the Halo we know and love, and something like Metroid Prime.
So, if your Halo fun branched from vacationing in Halo 2 and 3, exploring the maps until you discovered every nook and cranny, and killing lots and lots of covenant, then you would most definitely enjoy this game. If your Halo fun branched from matchmaking, playing against others for hours on end, and enjoying big (or small) games with others across the globe, then this game might not be for you. (Especially since there's no matchmaking. That's right, if you want to play Firefight with random people, you need to find another way to hook up.) I fall into the former category, so I'm giving this 5/5 :) As for the controller: If you have the Halo 3 Special Edition console, you NEED this controller. It matches the console even more than the controller that came with it. Even if you don't have one, this controller would be a nice keepsake for any Halo fan. 2115|R3H7Y8Z8DVCFOC;
