Like most of Halo's recessed lighting fixtures, the H99ICT is designed for ease of installation and flexibility across a variety of materials and situations. The hanger bars include pre-installed nails (self-tapping screws are also available) in special housings that ensure smooth, straight penetration, whether you're working with laminated composites, engineered I-joists, open-web joist plates, or even frozen lumber. The automatic leveling flanges allow you to hold the housing securely in place with one hand while driving nails with the other. The housing also includes integral T-bar clips for use with suspended ceiling T-grid systems.
Halo also makes it easy to work in confined spaces. To install in joist spans of less than 12 inches, simply collapse the hanger bars then bend and break them along the score lines--no tools needed. The bars can also be removed and repositioned on the opposite side of the frame if you need to mount the unit at 90 degrees to the original configuration. Wiring is a breeze with Halo's patented Slide-N-Side wiring system, which allows wiring outside the junction box.
Available with a variety of trim options (sold separately). UL listed for damp location, feed through, and direct contact with insulation and combustible material; CSA certified. For non-IC options, see Halo's H99T and H99RT.
4' housing for insulated ceilings where housing is in direct contact with insulation.
Note: Bulb shape and wattage varies according to the trim.

Easy install,
This review is from: Halo H99ICT 4-Inch Air Tite Recessed Light Housing (Tools & Home Improvement)
This fixture was easy to install and adjust to fit most locations. I installed 4 in a suspended ceiling. The only problem I encountered was in removing or seating the adjacent ceiling tiles because the hangers have a clip that protrudes into the adjoining tile's space.

I installed 2 of these above the tub in my bathroom. The bathroom was on the second floor so I installed them from the attic. Installation was easy enough and I really like the push-in, no wire-nut, connectors.
The lights provide ample light above my tub. However, at 50 watts each, they are not going to be blindingly bright. If you need a brighter light, consider a 5" unit (up to 100 watts each) or a 6" unit (up to 150 watts each). Or make the best use of this light and direct it exactly where you want it by using the eyeball trim.

we used about 40 of these and then switched to Lucifer Lighting. Halo tends to burn bulbs and the trim is poor.
