Overall, it's a great controller. First time using the new adjustable d-pad, which is a nice touch. My only complaint is the product shots make the controller's red coloring look brighter than it actually is. It's more of a darker red, almost burgundy in color. All in all, great controller.

Microsoft has done the Halo franchise it's due with this accessory. From the box to the little extras (i.e. the Covenant Banshee avitar prop). As with all offical Microsoft licensed controllers, this one is very solid and has a good feel, especially with the fiish they have given the controller. The finish has a very subtle texture to it on the sliver parts(more so then the standard controller) that gives it a bit better grip. The overall looks are just gorgeous for a controller. The silver matte finish and the subtle black detail lines go perfectly. Also the black buttons, control configuration and battery cover add to the looks very well. The crome "X" button is just icing on the cake.

Now, it has been years since I have purchased a new controller, so it just may be a lack of comparison, but the controller felt a little extra responsive in the "D" pad and the sticks. You will have to judge that for yourself.

Finally, the extras. First, the controller comes with 2 Duracell batteries to power it up and then there is the the exclusive Covenant Banshee avitar prop. I have to admitt I play with the xbox avitar from time to time but it is not over important to me, but I have to admit the Banshee flying around your avitar, while "you" are holding the new Reach controller, is pretty cool.

Over all I am very, very pleased with this controller and feel the money for this controller was well spent. If you are like me and have not purchased a new controller for some time, now is the time, you will not be disappointed.

Like every collector item, they always comes with steep price but they are awesome in the end. Custom graphics featuring infected crimson omen of Gears of War. The controller comes with transforming D-Pad allows more stable control, for example more stable in switching weapons in Gears of War 3. I remember I used press and see in the screen that I am switching between grenades and gun, that is annoying in middle of intense multiplayer game. And yes it comes with skin pack for weapons for Gears of War 3 so its pretty nice bonus too. Controller is light gloss so don't worry about finger prints, it is not like Xbox 360 S 250gb Gloss, which liternally shows case of CSI :P.

Just received the gears of war controller and it's very well put together, including the gears design. It has a glossy finish and feels good in the hand. It's obviously made by Microsoft, so you know it's made pretty well not a knock off. It has the pop up d-pad button that you rotate to the left for it to activate. The only problem is that it doesn't come with the chargeable battery. It comes with batteries only. Other than that, all the buttons feel great, just like the other controllers and looks sweet. I might even order another.

If you're looking for another boring X-Box 360 controller, look somewhere else. If , however, you're looking for a controller with a little bit of 'flair', and you're a Halo fan, this is what you want to grab.

There's really not much that differs this controller from the standard X-Box 360 controller, except for look. The functionality is the same, the buttons and layout are the same, the size is the same. It's the same thing, except it's specifically manufactured with a Halo design.

What better way to differentiate between controllers? This stops the whole "is this my controller" guess when at a friend's house, or even in multi-player scenarios, since this one controller will always standout.

Oh, and the bonus avatar isn't too shabby either.

You know you want it, get out there and get this controller!!

Pros: great design, nice smooth finish, the guide button extra shiny, enojy the III symbol between the D pad and left thumbstick, lets you know its fable III with out having to say "FABLE III", and love the black thumbsticks

Cons: only the front side has the design, the back is black and it comes with a 2 AA battery pack, not a rechargeable pack, for $60 should of been a rechargeable pack, would of rated 5 stars if it was, cuz now I have to spend extra money to buy a black rechargeable battery pack

This controller is very nice. It is very good quality, and extremely nice looking. Highly recommended for anyone that likes the Fable games! :)

I bought this controller about 6 months ago and the whole look of the controller looked very nice BUT when I first received it the down button on the D-Pad was not as responsive you had to put some pressure into it to get it working, so today (18JAN12) the right thumb stick was unresponsive, and I take very good care of my products but the controller ended up failing on me. So if your looking for looks go ahead and get this controller but if your looking for reliability do your self a favor and never buy anything from Microsoft.

This controller was a Christmas gift for my son. He loves it. It looks good and works great. Very happy with my purches

Warning I bought this brand new at Best Buy and the d-pad was really poor, I had to press down hard to get it to register, and many times I pressed down and nothing would happen. After a while I got rid of it, I recommend getting one of the new controllers with the chrome D pad.
