Manufacturers have been struggling for years with the necessity to produce high quality products that do not fail once they have been delivered to the customer. Auditing for stated reliability expectations can create a good product – but exceeding these standards will create a superior product. HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Test), HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screen), and HASA (Highly Accelerated Stress Audit) are intensive methods used by the world’s top manufacturers to expose products to extreme environmental conditions, improve design and process weaknesses, and improve product quality – all before the product is introduced to the market. HALT, HASS & HASA Explained was written to aid organizations in this quest to implement these methods and produce highly reliable products without getting bogged-down in equations.

Written by a renowned teacher and practitioner of these techniques, this resource book is all that is required to implement a successful accelerated reliability program for your organization. Use it to help your company dramatically reduce failure rates in the field, assure a mature product at introduction, add to profitability, and greatly increase customer satisfaction.

HALT, HASS & HASA Explained is the perfect resource for developing an accelerated reliability program for your company. With an actual example of a company that transitioned from a traditional reliability program to a HALT and HASA program, the author guides you through instituting and equipping the proper accelerated reliability program for your company’s products to selling these concepts to top management.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book on the subject so far, May 9, 2001

This review is from: Halt, Hass & Hasa Explained: Accelerated Reliability Techniques (Hardcover)
In this book Harry goes into hands on detail and doesn't just reiterate the theory. His explanations are complete and his guidelines are short and easy to follow. I especially found interest in his use of sigma values to determine the levels of energy a product MUST be able to endure, this gives us an educated guess into when you should fix a weekness without question and when you should take into acount cost and technology factors.

Purchasing this book is easier then compiling a library of published papers on the subject. It is worth the purchase price if you are working in the industry.

This review is from: Halt, Hass & Hasa Explained: Accelerated Reliability Techniques (Hardcover)
Being new to the subject and the first book I've read on HALT testing, I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to know what HALT, HASS and HASA testing is all about, how they relate to one another and the advantages of having these tests done on a product. This book isn't going to hold your hand and help you set up a HALT testing program. The book will explain what types of equipment are involved and gives suggestions as to how to perform these types of tests and who should be involved. I've seen one other book on the subject and it's thicker and more theoretical with many formulas and such. It's a big turn off and very dry reading. This book is completely the opposite. Very practical knowledge explained in easy to understand language, as if a co-worker who's an expert on the subject is explaining the whole process to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars HALT, HASS, and HASA is a Great Book, February 7, 2011

(REAL NAME)
HALT, HASS, and HASA is a great book. I've been using it as my HALT and HASS bible since the first edition. Harry explains the HASA methodology in an easy to use, step by step process. He also provides numerous case studies and examples to better explain the points. Best book on the subjects. This book is a must for anyone that will be practicing either HALT or HASS or HASA.
