Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Warren Sonoda's Ham & Cheese enters the world of unknown actors looking to make it big, following the ups, downs and real, real lows of two struggling actors, Richard and Barry, as they try to make it in the cruel world of showbiz. Without an ounce of talent between the two of them and their only strength being persistence, they'll do almost anything to attain their dream, except let it go. Join Kids in the Hall alumni Dave Foley and Scott Thompson, along with a superb cast who keep the fun flowing in this laugh-out-loud look at the screwed-up dreams of some of the worst actors in the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Comedy Ever!, March 15, 2008
By Jeffery Mingo (Homewood, IL USA) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
As many readers know, I'm a critical diva who has much that I can point to as being bad. I'm not doing that here. This movie was hilarious! I was rolling all the way through it. You know how "Fargo" was funny because the characters had no idea how silly their actions were? This film works in the same way. A shocker is that the guys on the cover only meet each other once. If Canadians can make films this funny, they gotta bring that stuff south of their border more. You all have seen how funny it is when bad singers try out for "American Idol"? Imagine bad actors thinking they will survive in that field. I love fat men and chin dimples, so I also loved the chubby guy (who reveals some flesh at the end) and the chin-dimpled man. My only critiques are that there were no foreign language subtitles or scene selections. Yes, you had to watch the whole thing or do a bunch of fast-forwarding. Otherwise, I wish these actors much success. This is a gem and it deserves much more attention and praise. Simply excellent!

2.0 out of 5 stars Had the camera left with Dave Foley..., December 24, 2008
By K. Knaus (Minnesota) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I ordered this movie on a whim for two reasons: 1) I'm a huge "Kids in the Hall" fan, and this movie has both Dave Foley and Scott Thompson (my two favorite "Kids" actually), and 2) It was like two dollars used. What did I have to lose? ...Well, two dollars actually. This movie was painful to watch. The characters were incredibly unlikable, the plot went nowhere, and Dave and Scott had approximately five minutes of air-time between them. The two horribly unlikeable protagonists never even meet in the film, so it's basically two bad movies crammed into one. The only nice surprise was that Samantha Bee (from "The Daily Show") had a fairly large role. I give this movie two stars only for the brief moments of recognition when Dave and Scott appeared on screen. If you're a KITH fan buy "Brain Candy" instead. It's not the best movie in the world, but at least it's chalk full of the "Kids." If your a fan of comedy, just don't buy it.
