5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!
I absolutely love this iron. I've used it practically every day for over two years now and it does a great job, not to mention the steam works wonders.

1.0 out of 5 stars WORST IRON EVER
This is the worst iron I have ever used. From the get-go, the soleplate on this iron not only stuck to everything, but left marks on all of my clothes! Keep in mind, this happened on all settings, with all fabrics. I thought the heat was too high, but even on low settings this happened and the clothes were left all wrinkled. Keep in mind, this happened on all settings, with all fabrics. I thought the heat was too high, but even on low settings this happened and the clothes were left all wrinkled. After attempting to iron w/this iron, I had to re-wash many pieces of clothing - due to the marks it left. I have never seen a small appliance make life so much harder on an average, everyday chore - like I have with this klunker. This totally rates an -F

Someone else mentioned that this iron tends to leak water, and it does, but I've only had it happen when I overfill the (very small) water reservoir. Usually happens when I first turn it on and it's sitting in the upright position; once it heats up it seems to be fine.

Other than that, works fine. I wish it had some steam holes towards the tip of the ironing plate, but I guess that's something reserved for the higher-end units.

UPDATE - 7/2010: I bought this iron in 2007 and recently it started leaking more, and now it has stopped working altogether. The lights come on, but the plate never heats up. You can't even take it apart to check for a blown fuse or something because there are security screws on the bottom. I no longer recommend this product at all.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good for a what it is, $25, November 24, 2007

I purchased the iron almost two years ago. I still have it. It worked great in the very beginning, but it did begin to leak and spit water out while ironing. As the other reviewer noted, it does leave marks on clothes, but I cannot say it is the worst iron ever. If there is water in the tank while the iron is on, in the upright position, it will undoubtedly leak all over whatever you are ironing.

To make it work best, I can only fill the tank with very little water, just enough to get by one shirt at a time. Yes, you have to be ready with small water bottle with a good spout to keep refilling this tank in small increments. The only reason to keep this iron is it does produce steam when it is not leaking or spitting. Needless to say, I am in the market for a new iron.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worse Iron I've ever owned!!, August 23, 2011
By

I absolutely HATE this iron. I only have it because I lost my good one. The only good thing I can say about it is it has the strongest steam I've ever seen.

So now onto the bad. If you just fill it up to the marked level, turn it to steam and wait for it to heat or start to use it, you WILL have water everywhere as it either leaks while sitting or leaks when you lay it down. It took me several extremely infuriating tries to figure out how to keep that from happening. You first make sure it is set to the NON steam setting, then fill it (which you have to do with it laying on it's heating surface. Stupid!), turn it upright and let it heat up. Once the iron is completely heated you can switch it to steam and it won't leak. However it WILL spit droplets and a strong stream of steam every time you lay it down or pick it up. The only way to avoid this is to very slowly left it or set it down.

You'd think this would be the worse thing to seal with... oh no, the handle also gets extremely hot. Hot enough to burn. It's the "clear" plastic. While cool looking it is NOT insulating and the hot water and steam inside makes it scaldingly hot. So you have to turn it off occasionally so it'll cool down. Then start all over again.

So, sure, you can use this iron, and it will steam press it extremely well, but you will be frustrated and most likely burnt. Save yourself the grief and fork out a little more money for a decent iron.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Steam Iron, March 29, 2011

Hamilton Beach 14560T Steam Storm Iron

I love the Hamilton Beach Steam Storm Iron. The steam is strong and heats up immediately. It is lightweight and has a clear water view window. It is also non stick and wipes clean with no effort. It attacks the wrinkles without leaving the clothes damp. Only negative:It empites quickly, but a handy refill cup with a small spout comes with it. This cup makes it much easier to fill the iron.
