I bought this for $17 at my local supermarket of all places! Thought it was a great deal after looking at online prices almost double that. Used it right away and discovered the major flaw is that it has 3 concentric ridges around on the edge supposedly to make it versatle for all sizes of tortillas. The concave center area with dividing ridges is only 6" across. That means that you can only fill the center 6" of your toritilla and the outer 1 or 2 inches is just "sealed". An 8 or 10 inch torilla will fit on the grill, but if you put filling beyond the 6" mark, it will not close so you end up with a soft "steamed" quesadilla.

PROS: It was well made, got hot quickly, and crisped up the tortillas (after I removed some filling so I could latch it closed, and it cleaned up very easily.

If you want 6" quesadillas, go for it. If you want larger quesadillas try one that doesn't have the "fits any size" sealing ridges. The one that Nostalgia Electrics makes appears to be designed specifically for 8" tortillas, so I'm going to try that one. (Also it's priced right.) Most of the other ones on here don't show images of the inside plate so it's hard to know about the ridge pattern on those.

We love quesadillas and I'm tired of making them in my fry pan. Hope this next one works well!

No, no, no!!! The description does not do this Pizza Maker any justice, at least in my book anyhow!!! This has got to be one of the very best items I have ever ordered!!! I originally ordered this, so that we could make the frozen pizzas that we both love, in the summertime when it's hot and you don't want to turn on the oven or even the counter top oven to make a pizza. I looked over and over and compared the pizza makers here on amazon and finally decided on this one for a few reasons, one: it's closed in and there would be no heat released into the open air like some other pizza cookers that I've seen on here, (it does have air vent holes in it though), two: there is no preheating required to use it, even with frozen pizzas, three: it makes much more then just pizzas, it also can cook, *Bagel Bites, (Mini Bagels), *Breadsticks, Cheese Bread and *Garlic Bread Slices, *Cheese Sticks, *Chicken Strips, *Egg Rolls, *Fish Sticks, breaded, *Hot Pockets Brand Sandwiches, *Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers, breaded, *Onion Rings, breaded, *Pizza Rolls Brand Pizza Snacks, *Pigs in a Blanket, *Pretzels & *Bite-Size Pretzel Hot Dogs!! (*taken out of the baking chart in the Pizza Maker booklet, page 6). If you're in the market for a Pizza Maker, I would most certainly recommend this one for anyone and everyone looking, it's so easy, even my husband can now make pizzas!!

I have Parkinsons and using a regular oven even a microwave/counter top oven is impossible. This is great I can put it right on the counter and when pizza is done just slide it off onto the cutting board. Then stand it up to cool. I was looking at that other brand that has the pizza exposed while cooking, but thought having the pizza covered is a lot smarter and cooking element shuts off like a conventional oven when the temperature is reached. Seems more economical and energy efficient this way. The window in the top is nice and doesn't steam up. One suggestion might be to add a small fan to circulate the hot air similar to a convection oven. I'd like to offer an idea to the person who said the center of pizza doesn't get done. That is to leave the pizza in after cooking is completed similar to a microwave. I do this for a minute and it helps.

There are not enough words to express how great this quesadilla maker is! I absolutely love this thing. It makes a nice, toasted quesadilla without having to oil it up in a pan, which just makes it soggy and messy. It indents the quesadilla into perfect triangles when you put it in there for easy peeling! The clean up is almost non existent, they cook quickly and have a nice crunch to them. As for some of you who may have trouble putting in small toppings, I use another product along with this one called the "spiral vegetable slicer." The slicer churns out whatever vegetable toppings I want on the inside of my quesadilla and it always cuts them out evenly and consistently. I highly recommend these two product! Great buy!

Just a few months ago, I received the best birthday gift ever. My friend Staci brought it to my house, because she could not wait to see me open it. It was just an average sized box, but when I opened it I was shocked. I was a little bit hesitant at first but now I think it is pretty great. It was the Hamilton Beach Quesadilla Maker!
The Hamilton Beach Quesadilla Maker is a bright red, circular machine, about twelve inches in diameter. Its small size makes it even better because it can fit in most kitchen cabinets. The size is also the same as the average tortilla. The quesadilla maker is equipped with two lights, a red and a green light. The red light indicates when the machine is plugged into a power source and the green light indicates when the machine is at the right temperature to start making your quesadilla.
This machine cooks evenly and makes the cheese inside extra gooey. There are ridges on the inside that are meant to cut each of the slices while cooking the quesadilla. It was a good idea to have the snack already cut when it is ready, but the ridges are not sharp enough and make it even harder to separate the pieces than if it were not cut at all. Another issue with the Hamilton Beach Quesadilla is that the power cord is only fourteen inches long. This is not a very user friendly part of the machine because most cords reach farther, if the cord was longer you could have it in various spots in your kitchen, and not only right by the outlet. After using this product several times I have learned that it is easy to clean. When the quesadilla maker has cooled off, simply take a dry cloth and wipe away any cheese that has melted on the machine.
Overall the Hamilton Beach Quesadilla Maker is a good product. It has flaws, like any product but there are defiantly more good things about the maker than there are bad. I would recommend this product to anyone who loves quesadillas!
