Don't want to heat up the entire kitchen or slave away over a hot burner? No sweat – the Hamilton Beach Countertop Oven provides extra capacity for second oven convenience as well as four ways to cook: BAKE, CONVECTION, BROIL and ROTISSERIE.

A 9"x13" baking pan can be found in most kitchens in North America, used for making everything from lasagna to brownies. Not only does this oven fit two 9"x13" pans at once, unlike conventional ovens without convection technology, the Countertop Oven with Convection and Rotisserie comes fully equipped. Instead of having heat come from just one central area and no fan to "stir-up" or circulate air evenly all over, this oven's convection technology utilizes a top and bottom heating element and a built-in fan to distribute heat evenly for a uniform temperature. That way, bakers can choose between traditional baking – ideal for cupcakes, cakes and soft baked goods – or convection baking – ideal for a crispy pizzas, cookies or even taquitos. Use the rotisserie feature for roasted chicken, beef roast or pork roast. Note: Only upper heating elements will be on during the rotisserie mode.

TIPS & CARE

Before cooking with the oven, always PREHEAT for approximately 5 minutes. Check pan manufacturer's directions for oven-safe rating. Do not cover the crumb/drip tray or any part of the oven in aluminum foil (causes overheating); however, use of aluminum foil to partially cover casseroles or some foods is acceptable. Visit foodsafety. gov for more safe cooking temperature information.

The full-width crumb/drip tray slides out from the front, allowing easy washing. For the best oven performance, cleaning should be done regularly. Unplug first and allow oven to cool before interior and exterior cleaning. For interior cleaning: wipe oven walls, bottom tray and glass door with a damp, soapy cloth, but do not scratch or damage heating element tube. Repeat with a damp, clean cloth. All removable parts should be hand washed in warm, soapy water as well. For stubborn interior stains, use a plastic scouring pad. For exterior cleaning: wipe oven walls with a damp cloth, but do not use abrasive cleansers or metal scouring pads; this can scrape/scratch the surface.

Temperatures are 60 degrees cooler than setting.

So far I've cooked a whole chicken, several frozen pizzas, reheated leftovers, and even baked a cake in it.

I would have given only one star, but it really is a great oven, if only it would last longer.

This is a wonderful counter-top oven with convection and rotisserie. I was especially pleased with the fit and finish and the accurate temperature setting. It has a large interior space, big enough to contain casserole dishes as well as pizzas. The rotisserie skewer is heavy duty, the included pans and trays are of solid build, and the controls have a nice crisp feel. The exterior is all stainless steel so it's easily cleaned. The outside surfaces tend to get hot. This can be a good thing as the top can be used to keep plates or serving dishes warm. Surprisingly the door handle stays nice and cool. Whenever the door is opened to reach into the hot interior I suggest using an oven mitt, or two.

The feature that impressed me the most was the accuracy of the temp setting knob. During my two hour long test I used a precise mercury bulb oven thermometer Excellante Liquid Oven Thermometer, 100 to 600 Degrees Fahrenheit. After learning how to use the dial markings I found the oven temp increased to the exact set temperature and thereafter only fluctuated to 15 degrees above the setting, whenever the elements turned on again. The temp never dropped below the set temp as long as the door remained closed. It was important to use the dial position markings correctly, since turning the pointer to the etched numbers does not work. As shown in the photo the correct position is at the end of the marked line, just before the etched temp number. I tested this at all marked settings and the results were highly accurate. All tests were done with convection on.

I am pleased with this oven and would recommend it to anyone needing a substitute for a range oven. The convection feature keeps the hot internal air circulating which eliminates hot spots. The quality of construction is good and the included accessories are not flimsy.

This is super looking appliance that has all the features and works just great. I actually bought mine at Wal-Mart when it was on sale. This oven looks and works like ones costing over $200. I almost never use my full size oven any more. It is big enough to hold a 9 X 13 pan or two casseroles on the two shelves. I made a rotisserie chicken that was wonderful. This replaces a Haier convection oven that was bigger overall, but didn't have as much room inside because it was not as high and only had one shelf. It never did work right, but I put up with it for several years, but am so glad I finally dumped it and got this one.

Addendum: I have had this oven for 3 months now and haven't used my regular oven since getting it. I am very pleased with it. The only thing I can think of that would make it better would be a light in the oven.

I searched many places online for a counter top oven. I am single, live by myself, and there is no need to waste money and energy on a full-size oven. This one caught my eye due to the price, consistent reviews across several websites, and the stainless steel design. I tested out a hand-tossed pizza as my first meal and found it to be quite good, though I learned it is best to place the pizza on the bottom rack, turn the pizza around halfway through, and place it on either the rack 2nd from the top, or the top rack position so that the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is hot. My 2nd pizza was very good quality; crust was very crisp, cheese melted perfectly, heated thoroughly through and rather fast cooking time. I have also tried chicken nuggets which were absolutely perfect; juicy and piping hot on the inside, outside crisp and mildly crunchy. It will take some adjusting to find what rack setting works best for what food. You will have to get used to turning the food around halfway through cooking for proper quality. As a prior review noted, you will need to turn the temperature knob until the mark aligns with the end of the curved line just before the degree number to get proper temperature. If you want 400 degrees, you will need to turn the knob until the line matches the end of the curved line before the number 400. You get plenty of extras with the oven, and the baking pan is quite sturdy. The medium-sized rack for the broiling pan can also be used as a cooling rack. I have not tested the rotisserie yet. Why not 5 stars? Despite the quality of counter top cooking this oven provides, there are just enough little things that irk me to keep it from 5 stars. First, the oven is a bit dirty when you first open it.Read more ›

Similar to other reviewers (such as Donna Ehler), I have had two of these defective ovens after HB replaced the original only to be sent another defective oven with the same defect. Here is my original email to HB:

"Hi,
This confirms my just concluded phone conversation with your customer support representative about my defective HB countertop convection rotisserie oven model: 31103 series: A262ICE. I bought in from Sears on 1/13/13 and from the beginning it was a cold oven, meaning it never heated up properly. The dial is marked for 450 degrees but it never gets hotter than 325-350. And it takes forever to heat up. The discrepancy between the dial temperature and the actual temperature is usually 100 degrees. Normally with toaster ovens, the heating rods will remain red until the oven reaches the desired temperature but this oven will cycle off well before the desired temperature is ever reached. The rods are seldom red hot even while I am waiting for it to heat up. It might reach its maximum temperature of 350 if I leave it on for 30 minutes or more. If I turn on the convection fan, the temperature will drop to 300. The oven is very frustrating and useless to cook pizza, biscuits, oven potatoes and many other things that require a high temperature. I believe the thermostat may be defective or the settings relating thereto are defective.

I am forwarding my Sears eReceipt as well as a scan of my paper receipt as well as two pix. Please confirm receipt of this email and attachments. Thank you for your assistance in this matter."

Then they sent another defective oven and here is my second email to HB:

"On 4/22/13, I received the replacement HB rotisserie/convection toaster oven and I have been testing it out since then.
