I just got the 3-in-1 a few days ago and have only used it once, but I'm so impressed! I almost got a single-crock six-quart slow cooker before I discovered this one, and I'm so pleased that I purchased this one instead.

Like others, I really appreciate the three crocks, the clever way they nest and that one lid fits all. The two- and four-quart crocks are easier to handle than the six, especially in the sink, so I expect to get a lot more use out of this than if I had gone with a single-crock six. Also, the two smaller crocks fit in my microwave, and the six would not -- very handy for heating the leftovers. I'm glad to have the six-quart crock as well as the other two, though.

The unit seems more sturdily constructed than some I saw in stores. I personally prefer the simple knob over the programmable touchpads. As at least one other reviewer mentioned, the high and low settings really do seem to work.

I wish you could use the lid in the microwave, but you can't, probably because it has a metal rim. A 10-1/4" dinner plate served as a nicely fitting substitute, but it was more difficult to remove from the steaming crock than it would have been using the crock's lid with its knob. This one complaint is a minor one and not important enough to downgrade to four stars in light of the unit's great assets.

My mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and I told her I wanted a crock pot. This is the one she gave me, and I am absolutely thrilled with it! The multiple bowl sizes are such a great concept. The unit heats up quickly, maintains a steady heat, looks nice, and cleans up easily. It even comes with some really yummy recipes. I've owned other crock pots in the past, and this is by far the best. I've been telling my friends about it and they all want one!

I have always had Rival slow cookers in the past. The Rival I bought last years burns everything! I read reviews for this Hamilton Beach model, and people said it doesn't burn. It's true! Nothing burns, and everything cooks beautifully. I love the different sizes -- perfect for any recipe. This slow cooker is awesome.

I'm a guy who likes to cook but I never used a slow-cooker before. I got interested because I heard the labor and cleanup was less, and I would use less oil and salt and live longer. Since there are usually only two of us for dinner, I looked first for a small capacity (2 qt) unit. But I'm glad I did not do that and instead bought this product with 2,4 and 6 qt inserts. In fact, so far, I have only used the 6 qt insert! Once you toss in a chicken, and vegetables and rice, you need a large capacity. And also it's more in the spirit of labor-saving slow cooking; you will have food for days. (I do think I will use the 2qt for oatmeal or rice pudding in the winter.) Another advantage of this design, because of the three possible inserts, is that the Hamilton gives more choices on heating rates. Each of the settings High and Low can be selected by buttons for 2,4 or 6 qt fills, which means six heat levels in all. And although it's not officially approved in the manual to use the 2qt on the 6qt-High setting to speed things up on occasion, or the 6qt insert on the 2qt-Low to slow it way down, you don't have to worry that the Slow Cooker Police are going to bust into your kitchen and arrest you. They could care less.

I also bought a giant cookbook "Fix-It and Forget It" by Phyllis Good with 1400 Slow-Cooker recipes. This is full of middle-America comfort food things like hamburger rice casserole or chili cornbread. No fancy gur-may city food here. More like Iowa Sunday dinner, with jello and 3-bean salads as side dishes. Now I intend to try all these recipes, one a week, which will take just under 27 years. So let's check the longevity angle at the same time. I'm 68 now; see my full report here on Amazon when I'm 95. Heh heh.

As someone who cooks at least weekly in a crock pot I was fascinated by the thought of having 3 different size crocks. I often use an old 6 quart as well as a 4 quart. I have owned this new set for a few months and am very disappointed in its performance. I have never seen a slow cooker that burns food on Low. This crock pot set will burn foods left cooking on low all day. It is also very hard to get the crocks clean whether by hand or in the dishwasher. I am very glad I didn't get rid of my old slow cookers as I have gone back to using them. They heat more evenly, do not burn or overcook food and are much easier to get clean. I wish I never purchased this set as I have packed it away and have no use for it.

The Hamilton Beach slow cooker is great. I love having three sizes of cooking insert and high/low cooking settings that actually work. (Some slow cookers cook on high no matter what the dial says). I've used it several times now since getting it just before the holidays and it is quickly becoming my cooking method of choice.

I've been looking for a good slow cooker for months and just couldn't make up my mind between 2-4-6 quart. I have 4 kids, but like to make smaller slow cooker things for different things a lot. It is so nice to have the option. I like that the pots stack inside eachother for better storage. The black and stainless look great. I saw the ivory one at Target and it looked aweful, very 70's. My last slow cooker (rival) burn everything so on LOW so I finally got rid of it last year and this one has been great.
